I am still mad at the latest episode though, unless it is a way to recognize the events in disappearance as having their roots in this by making us feel the same way. If so, they are cruel bastards.

As for Higurashi, yandere ftw, nothing beats Shiki of Rakkyo though

A friend of mine tried explaining the series to me, and i've seen a handful of episodes periodically and got the jist of the story - kinda liked it. Didn't know that much about it.

However, after running into a website that had every episode able to be watched, I watched the whole 55 episode series in a matter of 3 day.
Afterwards, I was pretty blown away. The series was breathtaking. Powerul story w/ intriguing characters. Original plot-twists and one hell-of-a ending. Not to mention what they find about about alchemy towards the end and the Gate etc..

A very wonderful series and highly recommended!
I think the new series you're talking about is called FMA:Brotherhood. It's pretty interesting too, and i'm anxious to see where it goes. It's like a remix of the original FMA, based on the same story, but with twists, like different characters die or just small/slight differences that should add up to a pretty changed ending..

cowboy bebop was also a good series. Was one of the 1st series that had storyline to it that I watched (unlike DBZ or some Gundam shows). Cowboy Bebop wasn't that long, similar to FLCL (which was also great btw)
A similar series to Cowboy Bebop, was Wolfs Rain. Similar in length, this one had a bit different story, but was also good.
Animes are pretty great ^ ^
I remember watching them as a kid and just because I liked cartoons, although 'anime' more, because of the better detail of the characters and action sequences - Although, I was hardly able to understand them because they used a lot of 'big words' that I didn't understand at the time, so I just watched 'em for the action ;D

Like Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone complex... that show is very 'wordy'.
but a lot of Animes are quite wise, having good moral points and underlying values associated w/ them.

You should be fine, there aren't much so far in the ways of spoilers so far, most things brought up are spoiler'd or plain too vague.

About Higurashi, anyone following the OVA? If so, anyone caught Rika's talk referring to the witch? Can anyone remember an instance in the original anime where she actually refers to that? I can't seem to remember any.
