I agree, there is nothing wrong with Coalguys. I watched that release haha.Ef fans were so pissed lol. How dare they spoil the cheeziest anime ever by pointing out how awkwardly sexual the whole thing is! | ||

UGH Melodies was such a frustrating show to watch because sometimes it was amazing, and other times, well, less than amazing. Hey, Ef wasn't that bad (not Memories either). If you compare it with keyshit like Air, Clannad and Kanon it is superior in both music, art, atmosphere and dialogue... The funny thing is, this sentence is correct (ok, the dialogue was worse imo), yet I enjoyed Air and Kanon much more. For example, for me Kanon is way more than the sum of its parts, while I felt ef ended up being much less. | ||

Even though I kind of like Kanon and Air - I rewatched them both, which I rarely do with anime shows - they are flawed. For example, in many situations the females exist just to be cute and the tear-jerking moments are fabricated for that sole purpose. It's like I'm still affected by it (The goal scene fucking gets me every time) but it feels very wrong. And even though they have no real plot, Kanon and Air are very good at building up feelings for the characters. I agree that Melodies is uneven, Memories is too (I liked Memories more even though it was for all the phone scenes...) but at least the women in that anime have realistic - relatively speaking - personalities and can think on their own accord instead of the stereotypical visual novel-harem characters keyshows has. I also consider the Ef~ stories more thoughtprovoking and philosophical than Kanon and Air which is always a plus in my book! | ||
