Grand Blue is fun. I enjoy how absurd it is.
|
I tried watching it and was bored from start to finish, dropped it after episode 3. And I love diving and used to dive myself, but nothing about that series had any appeal whatsoever to me.

Thought Quanzhi Gaoshou S2 dropped today. Just reuploads Was too excited.

Just got around to Fune o Amu. I really like the idea, the pacing was slightly too slow for me and the methodology used didn't fit the time period they picked. Move it back 15-20 years, remove the SMS scenes and it would be a better series. Perhaps a discussion of it being among the last dictionaries due to the digital influence in the latter episodes could have been worthwhile as well.
Still recommended if you like slice of life.

Yes, it was mentioned that the anime follows more the manga. I guess that's a fair point, but he got serious several times in the first season. It's just that when he gets serious, the fight ends in a single punch lol.
It's possible, not sure since I just watch the anime and have never read either the webcomic or the manga. I also agree. I'm sure she can reach top echelons in A, potentially S dunno, but if her older sister can, why not? Sounds like she just needs to gain more confidence!

Shame we won't get a chance to see + Show Spoiler +deflated boobs because they fight and train so hard.

BigFan likes everything except for Monogatari. It is known. Also something else... was it FMA? But that's literally end of list right there.

Finished Marmalade Boy. So, I ended up liking it haha. But, I have to say that the last several arcs were a bit frustrating to watch at times. I realize that unexpected situations, twists as well as misunderstandings are quite common in this genre seeing as I've watched quite a bit by now, and in some cases, they also feel like they are a necessity. No relationship is without its problems and they are a great way to test just how strong the couple are. Also, they can be pretty entertaining and it's always nice to see things get back to how they should be.
Problem is that it felt like the show started leaning heavily on this aspect towards the last half? The first half was pretty well executed and fun to watch. Nothing too unexpected tbf and the ways the MCs made their decisions seemed rational. The VAs also did a great job and you end liking the characters overall. But once we hit + Show Spoiler +the Kei+ arc I think (maybe earlier, don't remember), it felt like the show started really being drama-heavy. I've lost count of how many times Miki actually balled her eyes out over Yuu. We had that whole bit with Kei hiding the medallion then lying to Yuu about Miki telling him to throw it away followed by Miki misunderstanding Yuu and that was several episodes of unnecessary drama. Then we had that Suzu bit too which factored into it especially with how sneaky she was being, and of course, Miki seeing Yuu dance with her. Could've been solved in less episodes.
Then fast forward into the whole US bit. This involved Jinny who basically was the straw the broke the camel's back. While that one is a bit on Yuu for not keeping in touch as often with Miki, and probably on Miki for being a bit gullible, we got another like what, 7? episodes of her trying to move on etc... Tbf, this was somewhat reasonable in the sense that not being as much in touch since they kept missing each other+feeling insecure meant that any rumours were enough to make Miki's mind sway. Imo, the kicker was the last one. The fact that they are somewhat related because of some photos Yuu found. Of course, he can't tell her because she'll be devastated and it might hurt the family dynamic, but it's not like she isn't devastated already by being dumped mere days after getting back together. I feel like the number of misunderstandings were a bit high in Marmalade Boy at times and had the main characters actually just took several minutes to clarify what happened or what was going on or heck, to even ask the parents, instead of being secretive (well, keeping a secret like that can be fun, no doubt), we would've been saved like 20 episodes and the characters, especially Miki, wouldn't have suffered anywhere as much! Gotta feel bad for her.
Still, I would recommend the watch!

While you make a valid point, even with my plan to watch list, I always search for 'new' anime to watch and if it happens to be on my plan to watch list, so be it. Sometimes I just add stuff to the list that sound interesting, but I'm not interested in watching right away. Essentially, a list of anime that I don't want to forget the names of, but that I'll eventually get to.
For example, I added Marmalade Boy on my plan to watch list a while ago. Synopsis sounded interesting and I figured that I'll want to watch it at some point which is why I added it, but it wasn't until recently that I finally decided to watch it. Another example is Hana Yori Dango. I never had this on my plan to watch list, and I didn't even know about it. I was just searching around, stumbled on it then decided to watch it so never say never!

Also, if anyone hasn't watched Bocchi, recommend the watch. The latest episode was pretty funny, better than the first two imo.

After 15+ years, are you allowed to say decades? Or it is still years?
