Not sure what to say about Houseki no Kuni after 6 eps. So far it has been using kind of the same script over and over for every episode. + Show Spoiler + Phos tried to do something, failed, needed to be saved.

I don't know how you can say that when they've been pretty consistent with the exposition. Yes, Phos is impulsive and constantly eats shit for it. But as that happens, we learn more about new characters and past events that reveal a lot about the state of the world. I have my complaints about the anime, but the pacing isn't one of them.

Eh, I wasn't really talking about the pacing in general. I was talking about the pacing in relation to the fact that it's only 12 episodes anime. So far the story hasn't really moved anywhere. The show has been busy with world building (totally fine with that) and introducing tons of characters (unnecessary but whatever). They squeezed in some story here and there and it definitely feels like they want to get into some more, which is fine in a longer series, which the manga is. The anime however only has so much time.

Its focus has shifted slightly but it's essentially still in "azami-arc" mode Maybe I should just give up with Soma now while the goodness is still semi-fresh then.

It looks scary :S Length really isn't a big problem for me. Sure if it's longer i'll be a bit more reluctant to pick it up right away, but if i thought something looked interesting and people keep saying that it's good i'm been fine with a lot of episodes. Infact i love being able to binge a lot. There's just nothing about gintama that really appeals to me. And the fact that it apparently takes a lot of episodes to even get going definitely doesn't help either (And no i'm not gonna skip episodes). Not a bad idea, nothing that the anime is gonna end up covering is going to be even remotely worthwhile imo. I really really loved season 1 and 2 but i'm just not gonna watch season 3 and i'm only reading the manga to see where it goes and because 2-5 minutes isn't a big time investment each week.

I quite liked seeing + Show Spoiler + Eizan get his ass beat once more, along with most of the matches in the regiment. But yeah, the plot itself is kinda bad, as there's no way the rebels lose and Azami is a very, very confusing villain.

It feels like night and day. I've binged up to the latest episode and can't wait to see what happens next. Anyone else still following this? Miragee?

It has a lot of random episodes and a lot of mini story arcs before getting into longer story arcs that have large scale implications. The last major story arc they did was a very very very good one.

I'm still stuck at ep5 because it wasn't feasible for me to watch. Now that I'm like 10+ episodes behind I might as well let it finish before I finish it as well. Glad to hear though that has become much better.
