Fully adopting a mediocre LN doesn't mean it doesn't kill anime.

edit: I was just thinking about Kanbaru which led me to think of sports in anime. We don't often see people take sports casually in anime. Lots of it is set in school but only really sports anime have characters playing anything. Is this just a cultural thing or more demographic? When I was in school basically everyone played a form of sports. It was highly encouraged to the point of being compulsory. Playing as part of a team was just seen as a vital part of education. Wonder if that's just an SA thing. I know Aus is pretty similar. To explain more for my final year we had 9 Rugby teams. Only the first 2-4 were actually guys trying to be super good at the sport while the rest were just wanting to play something and have fun with group. Our school only had 100 people per grade so this was roughly 200 people to make 9 teams.

It has to rely on revenue outside of it's actual product to survive due to the structure surrounding it and the pieces it works with. Manga/LN industry has it's own issues of basically relying on slave labour to pump out content which they discard the moment it starts dipping as they have a wealth of people just outside the door pushing to get in. Funnily enough that's actually the exact same problem with programming in the gaming industry vs other less glamorous programming fields like banking.

Is that one show out there that people actually only like because of all the fetishes it caters to, but have the excuse of saying they like it for "the characters" or the "conversations"

Monogatari series: second season = season 2 The stuff after that = season 3 So yeah, Nise has that. In fact it's easily the most extreme as the author himelf admitted that he never intended to publish it as it just was him living out his fetishes, but was more or less pushed into publishing it anyways. But like I said, once you get past the introduction arcs from s1 you barely get anything like that.
