New Garo is... well I'm still not sold yet. The story's kinda meh, but it took Honoo no Kokuin an entire cour before it did anything special. The choreography hasn't been nearly as impressive either imo. Net-juu no Susume is saccharine. Toad already mentioned it, but I honestly would've preferred it if they didn't go the "what a coincidence we're all related IRL" route. It cheapens their relationships, and makes the whole thing feel a lot more manufactured. I don't really know why it was needed at all, since online relationships and interactions can be complex enough by themselves, and it's really not that common in anime. I think it's a missed opportunity. Other than that, I like the show. It's basically Gamers except much improved since they actually play games. Houseki no Kuni is the weird CG sci-fi of the season (there's always one), but it's actually quite good this time. I don't know how much of my enjoyment is from the novelty of the setting, but this is probably in my top two for the season. Two Car is trash. Too little sports for a sports anime. Awful main pair and drama. Juuni Taisen is mostly boring. Hoozuki and Kekkai Sensen are both solid continuations. Not much more to say about those two beyond that. The thing you have to realize about Mahoutsukai no Yome is that pretty much everything Chise-centric is kinda boring. It doesn't help that her relationship with Elias is creepy at best, and unfortunately, she doesn't grow a spine until 40 chapters in. The manga's at its best when it's using folklore as a springboard to explore the world and tell its own stories. It's really good at that. Why do you think its the worst arc in 3gatsu? Its one of the sweetest arcs for me..

Ive been behind for almost 2 years now and i wanna catch back up. Princess Principal is the one worthwhile watch there, but pretty much everything else is skippable. You may want to catch Hero Academia as it's a successful action shounen that will presumably get more seasons in the future.

but Himouto umaru chan was great. An entire episode about the working people in the series (big bro's + Kanau) and since they're the best the series has to offer it was a pretty damn good episode. Bomber is amazing, Alex is amazing. Kanau was pretty forgettable but still cute

I don't think you'll need them. On November 06 2017 08:13 Toadesstern wrote: imouto sae ireba ii was super boring today... but Himouto umaru chan was great. If the 2017 adaption is faithful I would say the people behind the 2003 adaption had quite some talent... I haven't read the source though so I can't say if the 2017 adaption is faithful. I think the story could have lived without exploring the town and without the longer fights but the ending was handled way better in the 2003 version and didn't make all that much sense in the 2017, comparatively. Haven't watched Hero Academia yet. I doubt I will have the same high opinion of it as you do but I admit I shouldn't judge it preemptively. Maybe it's just that good.

if that's a thing, wouldn't SAO also be mmo rather than isekai simply because they never were (physically) teleported into another world and it has always been an mmo? Seems rather strange to me giving how SAO was basicly the start of the entire isekai craze as of late? I'd agree that net-juu isn't isekai though ![]()
