+ Show Spoiler + I got the idea from this episode that the old guy isn't actually sleeping with his sister. Is that just his imagination running wild from her provocations and boasts? Because the scene with those 2 didn't imply that they are in any way intimate and she really just hangs around him as a love struck puppy.

The man radiates intensity, but as the episode showed, he's actually a pretty good guy. Rei's dislike of him boils down to his over-protectiveness for his stepsister (along with his own unhealthy attraction towards her). Gotou understandably isn't over his wife. That said, I don't think he's completely dismissive of Kyouko. While a lot of her efforts are fruitless, I think it's pretty telling that he sometimes lets her stick around. This is coming from a man who doesn't take shit from anyone, after all. He is also basically the only person that's capable of dealing with her. So rather than being uninterested in Kyouko, I'd say he's conflicted, especially with the situation regarding his wife. For real though, Gotou and Kyouko are fascinating characters individually. It's no wonder that they also have the most interesting relationship in the show by far.

I find the relationship between Rei and Kyouko interesting. I wouldn't say they have any real attraction per se, more like they both want to be close "as family" but the baggage from what happened when he was adopted into their home just makes them be distant in different ways (she is resentful and lashes out but Rei also is weirdly the family member she is closest with and Rei feels guilty about what happened and he doesn't know how to talk to her). They have that feeling of having a past that left a scar on their relationship but in the end they are drawn to each other because they want that familial connection.

+ Show Spoiler + Remember how someone said the english version is supposedly a bit different and basicly spoils everything in the first 25minutes or something like that because of a recap? Well fear not because everyone who watched that 3minute trailer instead of the normal 1:30min long ones has already been completly spoilered anyways! Seriously, why would they show that (to people who haven't seen it yet?). The short ones do show a good portion of important scenes as well but it's at least ambiguous about what's going to happen... Holy crap, even the thumbnail is a spoiler

but you mentioned a decent cast so I looked at it on MAL and it is indeed quite a voicetrap. Even has Kiyonon in there. And Nana. I wonder if I can make Ferrose and Kaze watch it just because of that 🤔 but "poor mans naruto or an equally wealthy mans Fairy Tail" doesn't make me want to watch it tbh

Speaking of things Toad should watch, he should totally watch Gundam Unicorn, since that's his one job right now.

I always give something a try if the story seems interesting enough and go from there.

"oh wow. Nana, Ono Daisuke, Fukuyama Jun and a shitton more here and there that a bunch of people like are all voicing in this. Maybe BigFan recognized a couple of the voices or names? He's finally becomming a real fan! I should probably apologize a bit even if the show really is as generic as everyone says it is because that deserves some acknowledgement if nothing else" only to find out that you're talking about the (supposedly) super generic characters... Give me back my acknowledgement! Or rather I'm happy I never voiced it out loud
