I knew she was helpless and pretty much useless, but this episode just really reinforced it. I love the story and design, but some of the characters are hit or miss. Riko had promise, now she's just an accessory to Reg.

The Abyss is the main attraction of the show (storywise) and the White Whistles seem to be the only interesting charas. So this basically means it should be the Ozen Show if we want any progress or Riko quickly meets other WWs. I'm not sure if it's that I expected MiA to follow some shounen formula but the Abyss is depicted as this dangerous place, somewhere charas can die if they're not careful. So you expect some sort of competency from the MC, esp if she wants to dive head first into the Abyss for something as basic as "trying to find her long lost mom". Except Riko's a kid with no redeeming traits in the world of MiA.

But the animals are somewhat uninteresting or not shown enough, so you can't care any less about them.

In the manga everything between 7 and 21 minutes doesn't happen, what happens instead is+ Show Spoiler [manga version of episode 9] + they only encounter the splitjaw inside the ship and fight him. Reg considers using his laser but Riko distracts the splitjaw by throwing a relic at him, allowing Reg to simply use brute force to get rid of him. afterwards it skips to where Reg discovers the fourth layer The third layer was incredibly rushed in the manga so the anime original stuff is nice, but it made Riko appear even less competent than she really is.

I also still have no idea why anyone thought they were going further, we've had 1 anime original episode based on a side story the manga didn't show much from and other than that it has been following the manga nearly 1:1 with the more or less exact same pacing as s1. I mean, from almost half a year ago: On April 09 2017 04:31 Unleashing wrote: bnha is almost certainly ending at the + Show Spoiler + end of the arc where they fight their teachers based on pacing from s1 and the first 2 episodes so far I could predict basically exactly where it was ending. If we were going to cover the next two arcs as a lot of people for some reason thought we were going to this season would've been so fucking rushed having to cover 60% more chapters. Edit: If i wanted to predict exactly where they're ending the season it might be chapter 69 as it's probably the best natural ending point that we have at the moment. Season 1 (13 episodes): Chapter 1-21 (With the first 4 episodes having extra slow pacing) = 1.6 chapters per episode Season 2 (25 episodes): Chapter 22-69 (With 1 episode of anime original content) = 1.9 chapters per episode However if we ignore those 4 slow episodes we're left with season 1 also having a pacing of 1.9 chapters per episode.

We're probably getting an 1 cour season 3 that adapts up to chapter 97 or so, if i had to guess. Edit: Unless you mean the final match of the arc they just started, in which case we're almost certainly gonna finish this arc up, including the final match.

Also you seem very confused or like someone who has misunderstood something. Because the bnha anime isn't going on hiatus, it's ending. What's airing right now is a 2 cour season 2 and we're near the end of the second cour, so of course it's gonna end, that's all they planned to make for now. That's not a hiatus, it's a clear cut end. Season 3 might be announced, it probably will be, but it's very different from a hiatus. This is why i do not get your comparison with series like for example naruto that ran indefinitely and as such had to add a ton of filler to not run out of material, this is a completely different situation. Same with black clover, i highly doubt that its anime will run indefinitely, it's likely one or two cours and that's it, for now.

BNHA ends at the training arc would pull a bleach, for sure, but I'd rather have that potential than end with the final match and then who knows. Even if they get a 3rd season, they'll only do the training camp and probably won't get to one of the best fights in the series. If that's the case, then I would want them to just stop. I don't believe that BNHA will just stop and end without finishing this story. It doesn't make sense.

Gintama has done 3 major arcs in 3 seasons and skipped all filler. They're pushing to end the manga and anime around the same time. Which is probably going to happen given the story in the manga is at the final battle. The anime is picking up this arc and will more than likely run 2 cours and then end. I don't believe that BNHA will just stop and end without finishing this story. It doesn't make sense. Plenty of series don't get new seasons until years later, it's really not uncommon. Sometimes it's because they're out of source material for now, sometimes it's because they simply aren't interested in producing more, it varies from series to series. bnha is one of WSJs new flagship titles, so it is almost a matter of certainty that it will get another season eventually, especially when the anime itself is pulling in such great viewership. However the current season ending is not the same as it taking a hiatus, one season is ending and we have to wait for another to be announced. At first they agreed with BONES to make season 1. Then they agreed with BONES to make season 2. And now we have to hope that they agree with BONES to make season 3, they could also be moving to a different studio (i hope not) or they could be waiting a year or two before they decide to make more, we really don't know (Although it is unlikely they'll wait very long). Look at a show like Haikyuu, it's also one of WSJs big titles but we currently don't know when or if we're getting more of the anime because they haven't currently agreed with a studio to produce more. Also, season 3 will not cover only the training camp, that's only 13 chapters, even for a single cour that'd be the most painfully slow pacing, it is almost certainly adapting the arc following it too. Also, the sad truth is that a lot of series end up with the anime version never concluding or finishing the story, that's just the state of the industry.

Look at Akashic Records or My Magic Doll. Those two should have been announced already, but they're just gonna sit on the sidelines (unless AR has been announced and I missed it).
