That's about the same reasoning people use to justify why they don't don't want to watch a show if there are too many guys in it. Also I was mostly talking about squealer and the more stuff you were mentioning. People who dropped the show at ep4 didn't watch it.

The Squeeler stuff is just peoples capacity to justify any action no matter how horrific. He's a fantastic character and really thought the author did a great job writing him. I just hoped peoples lesson from him was that while he's sympathetic he took a path of destruction that ultimately leads to more suffering for everyone. I mentioned earlier he's analogous to Stalin which makes another interesting point, how many of the anime fans that like squeeler and think he's 100% in the right would say the same if they looked at Stalin? Often you read the reasoning as "he was fighting against oppression!" or that they did horrible things to his people so it's fine. That's very surface level rationale without really internalizing consequences of actions. Personal context is important. I'm doing people a disservice by dismissing them without that. It's bad so I should retract a little. My context is fairly straight forward. I live in a country that could have easily gone down the exact same way as what happened in the show. Hell I'm analogous to the cantus users. Yet they didn't do that, the "queerats" in my case understood the need to reconcile and rebuild into something better. Would I even exist if Mandela had been like Squeeler? Who knows. So yea this topic gets under my skin a little bit.

If espers were to treat queerats as equals they would start to consider them as human beings and would in turn be defenseless against them due to attack inhibition and death feedback. I still think he was a villain because of how he treated queerats that didn't agree with him but killing the espers was pretty much the only viable solution if the queerats wanted to improve their lives. Personally I interpret SSY more as an allegory for how humans treat animals as inferior beings made to be exploited. In SSY It's just that instead of "animals" lacking Intelligence they lack Psychokinesis.

I also think the author did a fantastic job writing Squealer. I feel like the character is widely miss-interpreted though... On August 03 2017 04:06 BigFan wrote: haha SYY was great. On another note: Bahamut s2 is still going strong. It seems to handle itself better than s1. + Show Spoiler [ep17] + I can't believe they had the balls for Nina x Charioce but they did it. I suppose I watch too much anime to be amazed by something like that (usually anime would leave it at the teasing-level) but that's how I feel right now. Should be worth it for some glorious directing by Yuasa and the animation. Also B: The Beginning - An original sci-fi suspense anime by Production IG? Haven't had that in a while.

Also seems like i don't have to worry about bnha s3, is basically 100% sure to happen at this point. Top 10 (24/7-30/7) 1 Sazae-san - 12.3% 2 Chibi Maruko-chan - 7.2% 3 Doraemon - 7.2% 4 Case Closed - 7.1% 5 One Piece - 6.1% 6 Dragon Ball Super - 5.0% 7 My Hero Academia - 4.5% 8 Pokemon Sun & Moon - 3.8% 9 Kirakira PreCure a la Mode - 3.6% 10 The Snack World - 3.1% 10 Curious George - 3.1% No way something with this massive viewership will struggle for a s3

It was good but i genuinely can not enjoy karuta as a sport, a lot of wins and losses felt way too arbitrary and it often felt like there was no real sense of progress, this is why i generally avoid sport anime for sports i'm not interested in, it really drags down the experience for me The characters and writing were mostly great tho

I sometimes drop shows after the first ep or so when I don't feel like watching that particular genre/style at that particular moment, even if the show itself isn't inherently bad. And very often these shows basically get dropped forever. Went abroad last week and basically had around 40 hours to kill in the car, so downloaded some anime to watch. One of them was a show that I had dropped a few years ago because of the same reasons, yet I decided to give it another shot. Holy shit Spice&Wolf.. what a great show. The characters, the OP.. just wow. How can a show with such an "uninteresting" premise be so great and interesting.

The premise is indeed interesting but I meant that it is kind of basic in a sense. (no world-destroying pantsu-wearing space mechas destroying planets while the emperor is in love with his sister who happens to be a 12 year old loli) Economics fits more in the "boring adult life" category, not in the "awesome anime motives" part for me, but it was surprisingly great. They definitely made it work. Can't wait to watch season 2
