Blazed through Grimgar this week + Show Spoiler +So another try on "Świat Magii i Miecza" literally world of magic and sword dunno i sounds taht much cooler in polish. You get ur usual "most balanced" party, tanky fighter, fighter/mage hybrid, thief, hunter, cleric(why its priest dunno) and mage. They grow in power slowly (which is good no rushes here) then u get da first twist and for 2 eps it gettin over a friends death and new character is introduced, there are problems in between them and u get backstory (development). They go to mines where the new priest lost her's comrades of all places :X, getting busted on 4th floor, ranta gets a spotlight, they get together at road to exit and boss shows up for final showdown. (This imo wasnt really needed...) thief lands a crit (well RNG in games is a factor too). woah but tahts a fucking summary wtf T_T ima leavin this here :D
Hero of the show for me - Yume (LOL! you may say - b-but really its ok!) - Love the way she was written and played. Like real honest person [Im pretty much sure you wont find them ir-- wait i kinda know a girl like that nvm then!] epecially with describing her stories - totally diggin this aspect of the show. (like ep4 where she goes about a deity and gettin knives EP10] Thief - I saw the concept of the life line before somewhere, other than that nothing much else They say that magic users need to meditade so i guess writer went with mana option (instead of X casts of Y lvl spells) Few skills are showcased - casual RPG style. Diggin the outfits 100% be it town/battlefield. Hunter caught my eyes (no leather pads, free movement, reddish hue), thief with some leather stuff nothing too fancy, some OHKO's there was a mention of silent walking so all good Tank was kinda uninspired, Mage well mostly eye-candy, DK (mu reference :D then there was bk and BM aka Blade Master @ lvl 400 :D damn good shit woudl play again), cleric with only blunt weapons (D&D style awesome also wizadry has the same mechanic iirc?)
overall i would say really solid take on "old" setting which I enjoyed quite a bit would get 8/10
waaaa super long post screw im happy cus im free from work (for now!)

dang, that's quite something. I do hope it takes this route but I just can't see it. + Show Spoiler +Despite all they stated, I just don't get the feeling that Satella is that evil for some reason. Also, agree with this comment:
Satella has to be one of the more interesting anime villains in a while. Part of that may have to do with knowing so little about her. In a medium where the villain touts his metaphorical "manhood" every 10 seconds, a subdued villain with little information, let alone any speaking lines, is rare. I like this subtle type of evil characterization, because every show of force isn't extensive or destructive, its quick, abrupt, and stops the protagonist from getting any ideas in a millisecond.

I think it's a fairly reasonable take on the show. I did some speculations a little over 2 months ago regarding that:
On July 14 2016 09:17 Nezgar wrote:Pure speculation on my part: + Show Spoiler +I am fairly certain that at least Puck is deeply connected to the witch, mostly because I think that he knows about the reset. During one of the first few episodes, Subaru calls out for Puck so that he can deflect an attack from that assassin despite the fact that in that timeline, Subaru and Puck have not met before. Yet Puck never mentions that. At first I assumed it was simply an oversight, a mistake of the show... but after Puck killed Subaru in that last episode, it strengthened my theory that he knows about the reset and killed Subaru intentionally to start over. It's not that Puck killed Subaru in a frenzy either, he knew who he was talking to when he said "Sleep along with my daughter" (or something similar). Having someone close to you that allows you to start over if something goes wrong seems like a very potent tool. Roswaal is probably an agent of the witch as well. Similarly to Betelgeuse, he has a strange way of speaking and is very mysterious in general. He seems to be a very powerful person/mage/whatever, yet we see the witche's cult assault his mansion without a trace of him. All the dead cultists we see died at the hand of either Rem or Ram. So overall it's fairly likely that Emilia is a descendant of the witch (Puck calls her his daughter) that Puck and Roswaal try to get into power without her realizing her lineage. You can just replace "daughter" with "vessel for reincarnation" and "lineage" with "purpose". + Show Spoiler +Overall I agree that Subaru is the perfect candidate for the task. In those few rare cases where he didn't walk to his own death to start over, he was killed either by Puck or inside the Maher mansion when he was wasting a lot of time.

somewhat bored with series finishing up and new ones not quite starting yet so I'm searching for something inbetween to watch. Was Death Parade worth the hype or did it nosedive?

nows the time to watch some good shaft shows.

To BigFan and Nezgar.
+ Show Spoiler + I am more interested at what Subaru has to do with this. Why him and how does this kid from another world have a connection to the jealous witch? Seems like maybe he maybe was involved with this and just doesn't remember. There are some pretty interesting theories floating around about both Subaru and Satella but I won't spoil as they are based on knowledge from the LNs. However I will say that the whole thing seems pretty interesting and it will be awesome to see it all unravel to see how the threads connect. I am reading the lns slowly (Yen Press plz) but hopefully they animate more.

That is a good idea Toad. To watch something from backlog. Problem for me has always been motivation lol. I have to build up a lot just to start things that don't immediately draw me in somehow so my backlog usually doesn't go down t.t Tho I did watch Steins Gate and both seasons of Log Horizon and 1 other show this season.

I know plenty of people who really liked it.
I didn't like it though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah same. I mentioned that a year ago in here as well saying that for some reason actually starting to watch an already finished season needs a lot of motivation for me whereas starting a weekly airing show with ep1 is just whatever and you're either hooked or drop it on the spot. You know, with just one episode per week and all.
Think it was when I was talking about how starting Fate/Zero is a lot of commitment and Sent said I should just try watching 1 episode per week iirc. Really not a big backlog watcher outside inbetween seasons

I think Elem was also hyping it at the time and while he does have weird taste at times he sometimes just has those moments of clarity to realize the greatness of certain things that stay unnoticed for everyone other than him and me. I'm banking on that.

Death parade is incomplete and flawed, but I liked it. Also has a great OP and direction.

Now that this season is coming to an end, what looks awesome for you guys next season? I'll throw out the super obvious answer and just say I am super pumped for the second season of Hibike Euphonium.

You should know by now that nothing is worth the hype. Often extreme hype is inversely related to quality.

Death Parade is a good show and I enjoyed it a lot. However, it is indeed overhyped. If you want I can take a look at your MAL and try to recommend you something that you might enjoy (I realise that will be difficult^^).
//hold on, have you watched the Tatami Galaxy yet? I think people, me included, recommended that specifically to you a while ago.

The key is to build up a backlog of some 200 shows so you always have something interesting to watch regardless of the mood you are in.

I just quote my old post here:
On August 26 2016 16:29 Miragee wrote: Screened the upcoming falls season completely. Might be a bit early but who cares. Lots of stuff there.
Stuff with potential:
- Drifters (mainly on the visual side though, considering the author) - Yuri on Ice (looking forward to the first original piece written entirely by Sayo Yamamoto) - 3-gatsu no Lion (Manga is apparently pretty good)
Stuff to try out:
- All Out!! (rugby? seinen? Madhouse? It's at least worth a try) - Occultic;Nine (probably runs on the edge) - Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru (setting seems kind of interesting) - Trickster: Edogawa Ranpo "Shounen Tanteidan" yori (another Edogawa Ranpo piece, hopefully this will be a better interpretation than Ranpo Kitan) - Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari (looks somewhat cute/interesting) - Fune wo Amu (might be boring but who knows, depends on how it's written) - Shuumatsu no Izetta (synopsis says nothing but preview looks quite good) - Luger Code 1951 (mhhmhmh)
Shit list aka stuff that's probably going to be shit but entertaining:
- Nanbaka - Classicaloids - Soul Buster (although trailer looks pretty badass)
Sequels I haven't watched the prequels of:
- Natsume Yuujinchou Go - Haikyuu!!: Karasuno Koukou VS Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou
That's a lot. Lots of other sequels as well. Mostly of shit shows though...

Just watch haikyuu, miragee
