What to look out for that are finishing their seasons soon? I've seen Erased!, Food Wars (Next week's episode left), ReLife, Orange, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri and completing Joker Game in a day or two. Thanks for any suggestions. :-) mmmh going through anichart to look at what was good each season atm: from 2015 if that still counts probably Death Parade (not that I've seen it myself but everyone loved it), Gakkou Gurashi and Euphonium? I guess? For 2016 I'd just tell you to watch KonoSuba (since Winter 2016 isn't in their archives yet and I can't remember anything else) and NEW GAME! but that doesn't seem like the thing you're looking for. And Spring 2016 had nothing (you already mentioned Joker Game, flying witch is probably not a thing for you, idk about Boku no Hero Academia)

The story is top notch. Erin's development is handled really well, and it's very satisfying watching her grow over the course of the 50 episodes. The show is almost solely focused on Erin, which works out because she is definitely one of the most interesting parts of it. The worldbuilding is equally good. The lore and mysteries of the world are well thought out, and details are drip-fed to the audience as Erin makes her discoveries. The animation has issues. There's a LOT of stock footage used. I'm pretty sure they do it at least once an episode. There were a couple scenes that were pretty memorable, but overall, the visual part of the show isn't particularly remarkable. Despite that though, I'd still rate this show a 9 or 10. The story is that good.

Though I enjoyed the later arcs and loved watching the archbishop of Sloth (lol, what a character), I felt that the first arc was very weak in comparison and almost dropped it at the time. Did look forward to new episodes especially with the last two arcs. Also, Subaru's obnoxiousness can't be overstated. I'm not sure if the anime overplayed that part of his character compared to the LN(?) but it was extremely annoying at times. I still don't know why some are calling the anime a harem either. If you want to see a harem anime, watch Oreshura. There was never any doubt as to who stole Subaru's heart. + Show Spoiler + We all know that Rem is best girl though! Amaama to Inazuma: went into this hoping for something like Barakamon and well, I partially got it. Liked some of the characters but I feel like it became a bit boring towards the end. Tsumugi starting to throw fits and her father not knowing how to handle her despite overcoming similar challenges in the last several episodes was a bit annoying. 8/10. hmm the series was kinda forgettable for me. Watched it about 2 years back. Reading what I wrote, I guess I felt that they could've went in more depth about the psycological aspect. Here's what I wrote. Looked like it was after I finished season 1 so make sure to watch till the end before reading: + Show Spoiler [Gunslinger girl] + Finished first season of Gunslinger girl. Well, it didn't explore it as far as I thought but they did a decent job at looking at their emotions and how they change and such. Elsa dying was pretty saddening. I was hoping that her handler will understand but doesn't seem like it. Angelica's handler being cold hearted until the end was painful to see. Seems that only Henrietta's handler and Triesa's understood the girls and were less about conditioning. Rico's handler was rough but it did seem that he got a bit better I think lol. Claes' story was also a bit sad but at least she was able to survive and thrive on her own. There was an episode or two that were pretty intense. Overall, would recommend it although it would've been better if they interwined some of the earlier episodes into one. It was also nice to see the girls get along together. Gave it a more home feeling for them I'm sure. Now for season 2 lol. ps I never watched season 2 lol Yeah, I think the only big fault the show has so far is the lack of depth in the psychologic aspects. You can only do so much in 13 episodes though. I heared s2 is a lot worse. It's made by another studio, Artland, which is a pretty good studio in my book. Apparently they failed with animation and soundtrack though and most of all failed to capture the original atmosphere. Only hear-saying though, haven't even finished s1 yet. I was a bit hesitant about it in the past because some people said it was very slow and boring. And while boring is a very subjective assessment, I wasn't up for a slow show with 50 episodes.

maybe Stella no mahou? Pretty sure that's too loli for you but girlish number is out, we could do working but I'm not really a fan on new characters there, I'm not doing ufo, and the only other thing that kinda fits us I'm seeing right now would be brave witches? Never watched strike witches though

I did end up skipping a fair bit of the flashbacks because it's literally stuff they've already shown. Same goes for the recap episodes, obviously. It does get pretty slow at time though.. some of the intrigue also doesnt really suck you in. I think it took me like 4 months to finish it and while it was nice, I was never hooked.

@Toad: No Hibike? Gunslinger Girl ep11 was bloody brilliant. + Show Spoiler + It was very clear that Elsa killed Lauro and herself after the last episode. This just confirmed it. The main point was rather to give some in-depth insight into the psychology of the girls and the difference between them and their relationships with their handlers. I thought it was brialliantly done and quite touching - kind of sweet yet unbelievably sad as well. Guise must be a little scared now. And even more sad about the situation than he usually is. I hope his relationship with Henrietta doesn't take a dump.

The way the show took and takes it was clear to me that it doesn't shy away from crippling the viewers feelings or refrains from showing outright depressing things that make the viewer uncomfortable. So yeah, I was aware that everything would take a dump in the long run. I'm ind of glad I forced myself to spread the first season over 3 days instead of binging it or else I would have ended up like you did. I'm probably not going to watch s2 right away, either. Or maybe I will, I'm not sure. I'm not quite sure if I will read the manga. I recently mentioned that manga don't really work for me most of the time and I feel like it especially won't work for this kind of story. We'll see.

Other than that, you could possibly like something like Boku No Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100 (one more episode left) or Sakamoto Desu Ga?. You could possibly like New Game! a lot too if you don't mind this type of anime (cute girls working on a game). On September 22 2016 01:40 Spazer wrote: Finished Kemono no Souja Erin. It was great.
