anyone given shounen shoujo a chance yet?
Just read first chapter and really not sure what to make of it so far. Eca and spazer said they weren't impressed but that's a given for pretty much anything they're judging so idk

Anyway, I think it'll be mediocre. Medaka Box relied too heavily on meta-wankery, so it lost its novelty pretty quickly. Heck, the only two parts of that manga I really enjoyed were Kumagawa doing stuff in the Minus arc, and Zen being completely forgotten in that other arc.
So far, the meta-wankery in Shounen Shoujo makes it feel like it's headed in the same direction as Medaka Box, and I think that's a bad thing.

If it follows the kind of story that Butterfly Effect used with a similar conceit, then it probably will not end happily.
+ Show Spoiler +At least not for the protagonist. I think the killer has been in more episodes than just this last one. Kayo's mom knows something, I'm guessing, judging from the shot of her and the boyfriend freaking out with what looked like Kayo's rather bruised leg on the floor in shot.

The big drake was dangerous and killed people so I can totally understand that but like I said, it just felt weird with that victory scene at the end and you just heard the dragon was a mommy, the 2 dragons were kids and half of the cast of this episode died lol

I stopped taking GATE seriously when it couldn't stop wanking off the JDSF. Still fun but they over do it at times and it is reminiscent of those silly hollywood movies where they do the same with the US military. + Show Spoiler +Like when the JDSF guys took out 3 of the top world military special forces with the one dude bemoaning how good they were the whole time rofl.

Nyaa's been up and down for the past 24 hours, not consistently down. Not sure what's happening with their servers.
Also TTGL is an amazing anime, one of my own absolute favourites. It just does so many things right for my own personal enjoyment.
Stick with it past episode 8 even if it's rough, the series only goes up and up and further up.

Also after you finsh the TTGL tv series you should watch the movies, they're kind of a retelling but they also add new things and scenes and redraw entire things.
Especially the second movie is 100% worth watching if you liked the main series.
I still need to finish getter robo armageddon with my friend, but he's been way too busy lately. Need something GAR to fill the space in my heart left by TTGL, ryoma definitely helps fill it up.
Can't remember which episode of armageddon we're even on, but after + Show Spoiler +ryoma finally shows up again in black getter the show became like 20 times better instantly
Edit: Also TTGL got a BD release like a year or two back, you should be able to find high quality versions of the eye-catches.
