I still find it quite fascinating (?) and ironic that your watch of SSY lead you to moe and ecchi. For me it rather was the opposite.^^ However, you seem to start watching serious/sad stuff again (e.g. D'Eon). If I remember correctly you said last year that you don't watch sad stuff anymore since you have watched SSY. My professional psychological analysis would be that SSY put you into deep shock and you tried to cover yourself from pain and comfort yourself and are now on a slow recovery! Put into one sentence, perfectly accurate.

Don't limit yourself, Numy ![]() That's what i do, after watching Monster i went and picked up the Yotsuba volumes i bought half a year ago and began reading it, so good. Need to compliment the serious stuff with something lighthearted.

Tuesday Morning - Get bad news about studies Tuesday afternoon - Open a bottle of JD and watch Anohana with roommate Tuesday Evening - Cry like little girls Then Wednesday came around and we decided to do the same with this SSY show that was on the PC. It was all fine until Maria stuff happened. Think we were at the end of the bottle by then and they weren't exactly explicit in what was going down which left us to wild drunken imaginings. So kids don't drink and anime. It never ends well @Unleashing - See why cant we have serious and sad anime while still having lewd panty shots. That's truly the perfect mix surely! Shit man it's taking me a while to finish Outlaw star and that only has moments of serious! Although the latest one with Jim and that girl was just wow. Should have expected it to end that sad.

But yeah, alcohol fortifies feelings, I know that all too well. That's why I don't get all those people that "drown" their bad feelings in alcohol. Anyways, I usually do the same thing like you guys but I rather end up with SoL/comedies/romances for my light-hearted stuff, instead of ecchi or moe stuff. And Numy you can have lewd things in serious anime without even being fanservice or shit like panty shots (honestly, I never got what is so exciting about panty shots). Watching Kemonozume right now, they have sex all the time. Speaking of which, I think I'm going to watch the remaining 3 episodes now.

I don't exclusively switch between moe and ecchi and serious anime It's more so just alternating between something serious and then something lighthearted. (On that note, I consider generic battle harems to be lighthearted despite them often trying to have a dark side or serious side to them)Need to find a decent lighthearted anime to watch now though before i continue with something more serious (Which will likely be LogH).

Battle Harems are hardly serious. They so filled with generic tropes that the story is laid out from page one. Just depends on how good the filler content is. That's why the ecchi battle harems with decent girl quality are the best.

A really good one at that, makes me sad to know that it'll likely never get an anime because the author doesn't feel an anime would work. Oh ok. Battle Harems are trashy comedy, so of course they are light-hearted. On January 31 2016 20:43 Numy wrote: You just need to watch some anime with truly great panty shots to understand Miragee. It's the classy way of teasing but not teasing the better part of the female anatomy. I'd suggest Strike Witches, Vividred Operation and Yozakura Quartet as recent anime that excel at this fundamental aspect of life. lol... Well, a friend told me to watch Yozakura Quartet a while ago so might decide to watch that next... After watching two rather brutal shows in a row I will probably go for something more light-hearted now. Finished Kemonozume now. There were actually only 2,5 episodes left. I forgot that I watched episode 10 halfway yesterday until a friend showed up at my door so I ended up leaving it there. If I had to describe the show with one word it would be "brutal". I think it was horror, done right. The show is also missing the sci-fi tag because it was kind of heavy sci-fi in the second half. + Show Spoiler + Overall I would say what I liked most about the show was the directing, heavily intertwined with art and animation style. That one sex scene at the end of ep1 was so insanely well done and kept being stuck in my mind as the scene that really hooked me into the whole style of the anime. Another thing that I noticed, which really reminded me of Satoshi Kon, was the gradual increase of surrealism during the second half of the show. The ending was so surreal to the point where it was a bit too much for what they were trying to achieve with the series. It got too dramatic and overblown in the last 2 episodes. I know, the term "unrealistic" isn't one that should be used when talking about a series like this but there were multiple sequences of people falling from very high locations or survived other fatal blows as if it was nothing that stood in contrast to what was established before. Because of this the ending felt a bit awkward. Overall I give out a strong 8/10 for this, very good stuff.

Rofl, this Nijiiro Days episode was pretty funny as well. + Show Spoiler + When the girl told Kei that she likes him... woah he told her to back off nicely, rofl. Also watched the new episode of Grimgar. Was the best one yet. + Show Spoiler + Finally some more action. But honestly, the worst possible dude died. >_< He was probably the best member of that group. Wish Ranta would have died instead, but it's obvious that he'll be there forever. Gotta have an annoying guy in each anime. I kinda like that characters can die, it's not often the case in this type of anime. The pace of the episode was better, though I wouldn't be surprised if the next one will be very slow again.

Ofc people who liked it don't agree with those "reasons", not to mention that two of them aren't even reasons and are irrelevant.

+ Show Spoiler + Grimgar#4, oh god wtf lol this development. It is refreshing actually to see how they didnt realize how serious the matter is coming to this world, now they learn more. But heck, the studio is so good at dragging these episodes D: in other words, baka, now your healer is dead, such an important role in this kind of real rpg world but i can see why he needs to die i guess >_>

I will probably start watching it later this evening. //ok forget it. I forgot that Dragon Arena in Guild Wars is starting today, so I probably won't... On another note: I gave Trava a quick watch just now and wtf? What the hell did I just watch? This was one of the most random shit that pretended to be a story that I have ever seen. Like, random stuff was the norm in everything that happened: Conversations, plot points and all those side twirks that just happened on screen. And I somehow really enjoyed it. I think this is what one would call quality trash. [QUOTE]On February 01 2016 05:18 BurningSera wrote: Grimgar#4, + Show Spoiler + oh god wtf lol this development. What MMO that wants to be taken seriously has healers nowadays? Healing is boring and for noobs, just klicking bars and stuff. The pro way is to go glass canon and kill everything before it can even react.

+ Show Spoiler + Based A-6s and F-14s. Tomcats look a ton better when they are decked out with missiles. I wish we got to see more of them, but I'll take what I can get. Too bad the A-6s were just shown firing their weapons, it would have been nice actually showing them shred BETA with their dakaa. Hopefully we get some based A-10s soon! This anime has designs for them, so I'm dying to see them in action! As far as characterization goes, this episode got through some stuff that hadn't come through yet. Like Irisdina's terrible jokes, or Gretel showing why shes a Commisar and not a field commander (aka shes incompetent in battle). With Lise's introduction, I kind of wish that I didn't already know whats going on with her. Spoilers can be a bitch.
