Overlord - Don't watch that much Anime, and I tend to like trash battle harems that are about determination and friendship, so the brutal/evil tone of Overlord was pretty refreshing.

To be fair, I was a bit exaggerating. The people in the show ARE either assholes or idiots but I was a defender of Tarou in Shirobako as well. As long as I don't get the idea that they're being assholes out of ill intentions, on purpose, I don't really mind it that much. It's just how they are, can't help it. So prepare yourself for it and be fine with it.
It's just that unlike Shirobako in this show it's literally every single one being that way that should probably drive MC-kun insane but he's an idiot as well so really can't complain. Only mentioned this in irc but remember last episode? So they want to go on aforementioned date with him crossdressing and the 2 that drenched him + one + chef follow him and the two assholes/idiots basicly want to keep following MC, right? So Chef promises to buy them food so that the date at least happens without them interfering from that point. What a guy. Totally mancrush right there.
I am watching s2 nontheless because duh, Asumi Kana. Rated it at 5/10 I think?

So apparently Berserk gets a new adaption in 2016. As far as I'm aware the old adaption (series) adapted the "whole" manga and butchered the ending? I might wait for the new adaption then in hopes that it will be a proper one and watch instead of the old one.
Also, P.A. Works is apparently working on a mecha, lol. I'm actually interested to see how their mecha animation looks since their general animation standards are quite high.

The original adaption just adapted the first arc of the manga and kind of did the very ending a bit poorly. There's still a lot more manga left to adapt, even if the ending is far away.
Who knows if this new adaption will be good. I've heard nothing about it but that one thread with a picture saying 2016 adaption.

berserk is 10/10, very gritty, you should watch it
if you cbf then watch the OVA/movie 1 and 2 , they are fucking brilliant. (theyre just the series condensed into movies + better animation iirc) (the 3rd ova/movie wasn't that great so switch back the series at that point)
like just put on berserk movie/OVA 1 and it will carry you

An FYI for anyone wanting to watch Berserk, the Berserk movies are full CGI. At times they can look good, at times it can be really jarring. But at the end of the day its still CGI garbage and therefore should be despised for doing everything with CGI. The TV show on the other hand doesn't have all the CGI garbage, but instead makes heavy usage of still shots for scenes, rather than actual animation. So you'd just have to pick your poison. I liked the TV series, for what its worth.
