besides forcing me to buy this they announced more of the characters. Hocchan is apparently going to voice Wiz (there's more). I'm not even sure when she started becomming a real character... Was she already a thing in the first vol? She was super important in the second one for sure but there's no design for the vol-2 villain in there. Did the innitial run-in happen in vol1 already? Can't remember Well... it claims that the episode would be about YunYun... so it has to be vol-2, right?
But Kayano Ai + Hocchan means all the people who don't want to watch this will have to watch it nontheless :3

Also, P.A. Works is apparently working on a mecha, lol. I'm actually interested to see how their mecha animation looks since their general animation standards are quite high. The original adaption just adapted the first arc of the manga and kind of did the very ending a bit poorly. There's still a lot more manga left to adapt, even if the ending is far away. Who knows if this new adaption will be good. I've heard nothing about it but that one thread with a picture saying 2016 adaption.
Ah ok.

Maybe they get it right this time though?

(theyre just the series condensed into movies + better animation iirc) (the 3rd ova/movie wasn't that great so switch back the series at that point) like just put on berserk movie/OVA 1 and it will carry you
What is cbf?

At times they can look good, at times it can be really jarring. But at the end of the day its still CGI garbage and therefore should be despised for doing everything with CGI. The TV show on the other hand doesn't have all the CGI garbage, but instead makes heavy usage of still shots for scenes, rather than actual animation. So you'd just have to pick your poison. I liked the TV series, for what its worth.
Yeah thanks for that. I have the series on my ptw for quite some time now. CGI turns me down in most cases so I going to go for the series, even if it's a lot of still frames. I'm going to wait though until they announce whether they adapt more of the manga or the same stuff again.

if you cant be fucked to watch the whole series then watch movie 1 and 2 coz they are amazing
|
Movies 1 and 2 cut out a lot of story content for the side characters and do kind of a shit job of just expanding on the characters. Movie 3 does the ending bit that the series does badly pretty well. The series is superior for the most part. If you want a kind of "snapshot" of the first arc then you can watch the CG infested first 2 movies. Just bare in mind it is super rushed. I'd say if you have other stuff to watch then just wait to see what this new adaption is about before committing to either, they both don't do the source justice.
The short of it is - Movies are super rushed and infested with shit CG - Series animated like a bored toddler and crap ending. Both just cover The Golden Age arc which is the prequel arc to the current story. Chances are Sent is right and we just get a third adaption of that since that will just be hilarious.

let me resummarise - movies 1 and 2 are fuckin awesome - the series is fuckin awesome

wow, thanks. That's what I would call Aküfi in german which is an abbrevation for Abkürzungsfimmel which should translate into something like having a fad for abbrevation, or short hffabbr...

haha^^ Yeah, as said, I'm going to wait. I currently have over 100 shows on my ptw. Considering that I watched about 100 anime, including movies, this year I think I won't run out of anime until they release new info for the new berserk. :>

Wow, what a terrible release speed but I expected that much from yen press.

Looks like the last episode of Osomatsu-san was a recap episode. That doesn't work with a comedy anime like this one. Had a few chuckles still. If I wasn't dreaming, Totoko-chan at one point said there'll be a 2nd season, so that's something..
edit: Ah, I get it. It's 24 episodes, I thought it was just 12.

second cour for osomatsu-san was confirmed way back

It was one cour at first but they announced to prolong it a while ago.

Man... I just finished Berserk (the anime)... I'm torn apart. That ending, so cruel Rip (cruel for the characters, AND cruel because it ended so abruptly, doesn't feel like a closure)
One Punch Man had a great final episode too... but it kind of felt dull compared to Berserk lol... (Maybe it wasn't a good idea to watch another anime the same night I finished Berserk)

Berserk anime ending destroyed me for a good week. I still have PTSD from it.
Not a good idea to watch that before reading the manga.
|
I know how you guys feel about the ending. No PTSD (since all my PTSD is reserved for MLA now), but still. It messes you up, and then you are like "wait, thats it?"
|
I've read the Berserk manga so I don't care about spoilers, how does the anime end?
|
Berserk Manga Spoilers: + Show Spoiler +It ends at the Eclipse, where Griffith becomes a demon, rapes Caska in front of Guts, almost everyone dies, etc. Biggest difference is that Skull Knight doesn't show up. It pretty much just has Caska getting raped, Guts held down with his eye poked out, and fades out IIRC. Then last scene is a real short scene of Guts leaving Godo's house after the whole affair, off on his revengequest.

The most horrible is the "Wait, that's it" feeling that comes after it!
I've already read Berserk manga shortly after having watched the Claymore, and reading it too (following a recommandation from TLADT). For some reasons, I decided to shy away from the anime (I think the consensus was that the manga was better or something?). Anyway, with how 'slow' this season has been with (and my marathon of Monogatari), I decided to explore some anime that were on my 'WATCH LIST" in MAL...
The anime was still refreshing. The manga is just too slow, with the hiatus and stuff. The anime allowed to go through certain events again (that I've mostly forgotten)
ps : I prefer animated over manga, anytime Assuming that the quality is there!

That kinda looks like Icarus from SnO except the face is more expressive. The Snoon Dog reaction is great tho.

It's from neptunia. The hair ornaments are a dead giveaway.
Finished my rewatch of GitS SAC. Still good. I also figured out why the tachikomas in Arise bother me so much.
So everyone knows that the defining feature of the tachikomas is their cheery behaviour. But the real reason why the tachikomas in SAC were so good is because they were self-aware. Entire episodes were dedicated to showing off their curiosity about the world and themselves. It culminates with + Show Spoiler +their deaths at the end of the series, showing that although they have matured enough to learn self-sacrifice. Though the tachikomas are just AIs, the viewer is made to feel that with their deaths, something of value has been lost.
In comparison, the tachikomas in Arise just feel like they're just going through the motions - they're cute merely because they were cute in SAC. Ultimately, their actions lack soul (or ghosts, as it were).
