Finished my rewatch of GitS SAC. Still good. I also figured out why the tachikomas in Arise bother me so much.

So everyone knows that the defining feature of the tachikomas is their cheery behaviour. But the real reason why the tachikomas in SAC were so good is because they were self-aware. Entire episodes were dedicated to showing off their curiosity about the world and themselves. It culminates with + Show Spoiler +

In comparison, the tachikomas in Arise just feel like they're just going through the motions - they're cute merely because they were cute in SAC. Ultimately, their actions lack soul (or ghosts, as it were).

The official manga translation for one punch man is so fucking bad especially with regards to names/hero names. A lot of names are either translated fully(Tatsumaki = Tornado, Butagami = Pig god, Fubuki = Blizzard and so on), only translated halfway(Ikemen Kamen Amai Mask = Handsome Kamen Amai Mask) or not translated at all(Mumen rider, Asura Kabuto,).

Who the fuck translates names? Their hero names are indeed "Terrible tornado" and "Blizzard of hell" if you translate it, and tatsumaki does indeed translate to tornado and fubuki does indeed translate to blizzard.
But Tatsumaki and Fubuki aren't their hero names, it's just their actual names, the HA just decided to include their real names in their hero names. It'd be like translating the name of a character named Sakura and have the characters in the english translation call her "Cherry blossom".
You don't translate names like that, it's dumb.
