I honestly don't know if it's a matter of perspective or nostalgia glasses... I read the first books when I was in grade 4 so I was about 9 at the time? Loved the shit out of them into my teens as well even. So there's a high chance my grading system got harsher but they still might be his better works.
I read them in this order (this is not the order they were written, he started with Icewind Dale..)
Perhaps you could start with Crystal shard then go back to homeland/exile/sojourn seeing as there are diary entries by Drizzt that you may want to skip in the books because I think they mention the icewind dale trilogy.
Darkelf Trilogy: (I'd recommend reading in this order personally and skipping certain diary entries if they talk about things that haven't happened yet).
Homeland -> Exile -> Sojourn
Icewind Dale Trilogy:
The Crystal Shard -> Streams of Silver -> The Halflings Gem
Legacy of the Drow:
The Legacy -> Starless Night -> Siege of Darkness -> Passage to dawn
I remember liking a few of his books afterwards, or at least portions of them. But they weren't a full, "holy shit get me to the next part" like the Malazan series once that series picked up.
Yeah I'd need to re-read the first books to know for sure... it wouldn't take too long either since they're all only about 300pg.
I read some Dragonlance as well at the same time when I was 9 and I thought R.A.'s characters were more memorable / better. Then again I only read like 3 series and the only one that I can remember anything about atm is Kaz the Minotaur.

Dragonlance was the one that i read in middle school/going into high school a little bit. It's just your basic generic fantasy series. I just liked the dragons a lot. and Raistlin i guess.

The scene where Shirou talks to Saber really to me signifies they are doing True route because it was pointing more toward her being content now as she has her answer so she can go back to her own time in peace.

I will confess to drinking alcohol while watching some anime though.
I recently watched Texhnolyze and Ergo Proxy. I see you like Texhnolyze but I'm curious if you enjoyed Ergo Proxy. Also, any particular reason you rate Texhnolyze so highly?

I thought Symphogear was going to be more yuri friendship happiness like Vivid. This not so subtle foreshadowing of horrible stuff leaves me wondering if I want to keep watching. Sent tell me does it end on happy notes? Does Yuri win out against evil in the end? Also lol at Sawashiro's attempt at English. At least there were subtle in the rip I watched, without it I wouldn't understand a word she was saying.

Grisaia is going pretty fast. They can probably shove in after story and be done by like ep11 at this rate. Seems like they cut out the Gold/Silver Michiru line unless next episode starts with it.

Alright, finished up Steins;Gate. The last few episodes have been really great. I wish the whole any would have been like that. In the end, they couldn't make up for the whole show and I coudln't bring myself to give it a 7/10 but a 6/10 is still fine and the last episodes at least made me want to check out more Steins;Gate stuff. I'm also kind of looking forward to Steins;Gate 0 now.
