After all, you can't waste such a #1 character by having them only exist in the past!

New girl with legit boobs and KitaEri is awesome everytime she gets screentime. And the green hair guy was actually funny and not just some random I-don't-care-about-him side character. Could be that's his fate from now on because he's male and not MC but epsiode was good o/

It's not hard not getting the point of anything in that show. Although vampires aren't always bound to fade in sunlight. There have been a lot of stories with vampires being imune to sunlight or acquiring imunity.

It feels like LN/Anime/Manga butcher vampires more than the West does and that's truly a remarkable feat.

I'm slightly confused about Dio and his relation to stands. Is he just the source of the Joestar stand power or all stand power? So would killing him to save Holly also destroy Jotaro's stand. I know there are parts afterwards with stand powers which adds to my confusion lol. Never watched that Anime Slaughter or read the source. Man Akane just keeps adding to her harem. Save flower girl! edit: Should I spoiler Jojo stuff? Seems like I'm only one that doesn't know what's going to happen lol.

At this point the only thing that even remains of a "vampire" is sucking blood but still haven't even seen a vampire do that. At least the background art is beautiful. Dying in sunlight is a rather "new" thing when it comes to vampires. Actually, most of these kryptonite-esque weaknesses for vampires are rather new. In the original vampire fiction (Dracula, Carmilla), most of the weaknesses to vampires are just annoyances. To even stop them, you have to do crazy shit like cut off the head, burn the rest of the body to ash, shove the mouth full of garlic, and bury the head underneath running water. And that's just to keep them from coming back to life. Of course, almost all of vampire lore has been pushed to the utmost of extremes on either end, where all the weaknesses are instant death, every feeding is always from the neck and always fatal, they always transform into bats (if they transform at all) and not cats or wolves... That's just me nitpicking though ![]()

Don't get me started on the blood sucking. Seriously you scrap everything yet still keep that "intimacy" stuff? What's the point. Anyway I just want to watch a vampire show about actual vampires being boss. Jojo I think has a good take on it but it's not really a vampire show.

The narrative further cements this by only giving glimpses and peaks at him.I like that too for vampire stuff. The sun being non-fatal is also fine but it was always a weakness at least in Dracula(I haven't read Carmilla). You get that feeling in Hellsing at least which is obviously what they going for but at least they did it well. That powerful godlike entity is what I like a lot. The Anne Rice more melodramatic/brooding vampire stuff isn't quite as cool to me but if done well can work nicely. It's just rarely ever done well. Then you get the spectrum of stuff like in Seraph/Vampire Bund where the term vampire has basically no meaning and is just there to sell copies because "vampires". Don't get me started on the blood sucking. Seriously you scrap everything yet still keep that "intimacy" stuff? What's the point. Well, vampire lore has always been about some kind of forbidden temptation and eroticism. A big part of the original Dracula is Mina Harker being seduced and the attempts to make her a vampire as well. And Carmilla is the original lesbian vampire, so yeah... That said, the emphasis is on the "forbidden" part, considering both stories came out almost two centuries ago, and it's quite obvious that they're unholy and monstrous creatures tempting God-loving people. Nowadays it's just "vampires are bad because...reasons".

Don't even have to do Dracula-esque vampire ,can just do Ann Rice level stuff which I guess makes it a bit more sexual/emotional. Just don't make them stronger humans that feed off blood ffs. It feels like LN/Anime/Manga butcher vampires more than the West does and that's truly a remarkable feat. Well, you even mentioned those demigod creatures like Alucard and Dracula. I mean, Alucard is basically invincible and doesn't care for stupid things like holy water, silver, garlic or daylight. I'm not far enough into Jojo (4 episodes into 2012) but Dio doesn't seem to care about daylight, either, only his puppets. Did you watch Shiki? I didn't watch it but people are saying that it's a good vampire show...

Like vampires had families, pretty sure Moka could walk in the sun and weaknesses like garlic and stuff were there still but reduced to a comedy level. Overall its nice, especially when the show moves away from more the sol fantasy harem with some fights later on and into more serious territory. If anyone does try R+V I would highly recommend they skip the anime and just read the source.
