+ Show Spoiler +That episode definitely had a lot of philosophy to it. Hikigaya is in a really weird position with all his acquaintances at this point. I think they are more honest about Hikigaya than he is to himself. Also that ending is a good cliffhanger. I think he will avoid club for a while but some event will bring him back inevitably. It's a shame Hikigaya didn't make any attempts to rectify things with Yukino but it fits his personality that he didn't. I expect next episode to be quite eventful. Also I really like the piano version of the opening.

Xam'd just...barely made sense, and most of it is only explained during or after the fact. ? I think Xam'd makes pretty good sense. I mean, in every fantasy story or even science fiction story there are usually general inconsistencies and plot holes that the audience excuses largely due to suspending reasonable amounts of disbelief. Xam'd has a bit more of that mysticism than other shows but it still pulls off a better world than E7 and in a shorter amount of time as well, because I think it's much more fascinating and has a rich vibrant history. I can' t remember any relevant details from E7 other than....okay I know there was a monk somewhere.
And the coming of age story for Renton was boring and cheesy. The love story between him and Eureka was pretty bad, and the only couple worth talking about really was Anemone and Dominic. Xam'd has the "better" characters that, despite being a bit more stoic than their bombastic E7 counterparts, bring a particular realism to them that doesn't make them fucking annoying.
Except for Haru. That girl was annoying as shit.

Always has been that way more or less. It's just that she's singing solo this time while the normal one was both of them together.

It's been awhile sinec I watched those but I largely liked both. Eureka's character design I loved which most likely clouds my memory of the series but Xam I remember enjoying thoroughly even though I can't remember the specifics too much. Should just watch both :D
