There's a certain tension, between senpai and kouhai, between students and teachers, between the ambitious and the conforming. Peer pressure is a big theme in school settings. Consider this in the context of Japanese culture where these things are very different from more Western countries. And I feel like episode 3 is a great dissection of that tension. you disagree with me saying it was supposed to look/sound sad and you didn't think it was supposed to look sad? If that's the case, yeah then we disagree. I totally agree with beauty in leaving exercise for the viewer and absolutely love that, but if you do that leave the reaction to that to the time it actually comes together a little more. If you didn't think it was supposed to be sad you obviously don't see a problem there because they didn't make a mistake there, yeah.
I think sad is not the only component here. It's sad, kinda, but it stems from frustration and anger.

I tried watching it for the voice trap, but to be honest it wasn't quite worth it. I got to episode 14 before dropping it.
While there's a great voice cast, it wasn't quite the ear-candy I hoped it'd be. It wasn't like the cast actually got to utilize most of what made them good.
The anime itself gets really... wot.

It starts out awful and then becomes just bad.
It was somewhat fun to watch while it aired(more so for the reactions people had to it/the discussions about it) but i wouldn't really recommend it.

Is it a voice trap? Well I guess cause all the VAs have to do several voices from the body swapping (I actually don't like Hayamin as the female MC unless she is doing a swapped voice). Seems like they are going to butcher the shit out of it though because there is no way in hell you are going to fit all the content into 12 episodes without glossing over a lot of shit. Seriously, Nisekoi did around 50 chapters in 20 episodes and Yamada-kun anime is trying to do like 80-90 chapters in 12 episodes. The series will probably lose a lot of its charm.

Danmachi is great. I really enjoy these fantasy-type worlds with a big cast of characters. The main thing is that it cant take itself too seriously, other wise itll just make everything feel awkward and cringe.
