YAY, we're doing an adaption instead of an original show now. Really like to see how hard miyamori's job is and i find it really funny when the manga author doesn't even show up for the meeting and the editor didn't care about the anime. haha, i wonder if that is something really common in the industry. Though there are some authors that do care like NGNL's and Tokyo Ghoul's for some recent examples.

That's a lot of.... fanservice. Anyways the character are really eccentric so far. Feels like Fumiaki Maruto inserted himself into Kasumigaoka Utaha.

Interesting first episode, will continue. Though this seems a bit restrained compared to when Maruto wrote VNs.

Kaneki does a ep25-26 Shinji with the whole psychological experience thing.

Then he becomes super powerful and gets white hair and his personality hardens so he is no longer a pussy.
Then he kills Jason.

Meanwhile, Anteiku+ other people like Tsukiyama and etc fights off against Aogiri members to try to save Kaneki and CCG fights against one eyed Owl as they attack the building as well since they want to kill ghouls of course

So, in the manga he doesn't join Aogiri Tree? That seems like a pretty big difference to me lol. Like it isn't really an adaptation anymore, just borrowing the characters and setting.

i disagree that it's not an adaptation anymore because it kind of makes sense that he'd try to join aogiri.
tbh when i was reading through the manga for the first time i was actually half wondering whether he'd end up allying himself with them or not

his defining characteristic that shapes the rest of his actions in the manga is his need to protect the people close to him, and becoming part of aogiri is a means to that end

but all that said, i think i prefer the manga over the overall anime route because Kaneki's other central characterization is his ability to retain his humanity even as a ghoul, which kind of clashes with the overall directive of aogiri

That is essentially correct.

What's funny is that this was the original path the manga was going to take until the author scrapped it and decided that Kaneki would make his own separate squad instead of joining aogiri.
