the number of deathflags in this show is damn high though, too many now that I would probably be more angry than happy if they reverse it and Kaori lives happily in the end.
I am also excited to see what Arima will do next episode, that move was more Kaori-esque. I also like that more characters are being brought into the show.
The new OP isn't bad. I think it's worse though. That "shimpfony" made me cringe each time. I dislike it this "throw in some english words because its cool" stuff. Especially when it's japanese. I love the sung japanese language and a badly pronounced english word here and there seems so out of place and forced. : /
+ Show Spoiler +Agreed on the death flags, there are too much. At first I didn't see them when goody began to call them out. But it got too damn obvious over time. Kaori probably won't die and I agree that would put me off.

haha yeah those "shimpfony" are cringe-worthy indeed T_T I don't get it either, but japanese/korean or even more others seem to like to have some random engrish words in their songs no? I remember Cross Ange OP also have some english part, but at least it was done better than this

Dunno, I kinda have the feeling it is on a bit of an upswing lately. But that's just a feeling, by the amount of shows I watch it's definitly not representative. I noticed it on Shingeki no Bahamut (wasn't so bad) and the two latest Fairy Tail OP's (the newest one is so cringe-worthy, but so is the arc, so it's fitting).
But yeah, kpop has it as well and over here they use it as well. It's mostly pop though and that's not my type of music anyways.

English sounds exotic to the Japanese or something. It isn't really a new thing for English words to get thrown all-over the place in anime.

Nothing wrong with shinpufoni, it actually flows nicely imo. Tis nothing new anyway. I'm super used to it. I only mind when they start singing entire songs or segments of songs in broken Engrish (like that twinkle twinkle little star bit, that was cringey).

Anyone watching Shigatsu wa kimi no uso? The last episode i watched was ep 3 and i don't know whether i should just drop it or continue in the hopes that it will be good

Depends on what you're expecting from it. I think it's horribly overrated as a deep/emotional/feels anime but it's a decent shounen in general.

Man, the first week of a new season is so exciting. Waiting to find out what everyone likes and recommends to see what else I should pick up for this season! Will be watching the 2nd half of Parasyte, Shigatsu, and Shirobako. Already watched the first of Yuri Kuma (mostly for ridiculousness-value, don't know if I'll drop it or not), and got the first ep of S1 of Kamisama Hajimemashita, but looking for a couple more shows still.

For some reason I don't think a supporting character who exists to lose and/or be a runner-up prize qualifies as a "main girl". Regardless of who eventually loses, its kind of clear cut who the main girl is by the OP, and virtually all promotional material for it.

Thats true about the OP and promotional stuff...but still, I'm not completely sure that MC's childhood friend girl isn't gonna end up winning in the end....meaning i think it's too early to declare that she's meant to be runner-up girl or w/e. But it does mostly feel like that's the direction it's headed...and I can see how others would say that's definitive, but there's just not enough for me to be certain on it. I hate giving an absolute yes/no until i'm 100% certain about what i'm saying.
