First: goody....i just can't follow your tastes. You say you don't like magic/supernatural elements in stories, but then you say you like a show that has it's first basis in magic/supernatural elements. Come to think about it...don't you freaking love Haruhi? That's supernatural as well. I just don't get you.  As to the actual show, man it was pretty good. It had potential to be really awesome, but i think some of the story structuring hurts it. If they had another cour (at least) already in the books then all of that would have been better, and i think the overall show/story would have been amazing. Sadly i'm finding that tends to be the case ( where shows just dont have enough time or money to properly create something amazing). Hatoko is awesome but i think I like Tomoyo better. Still Student Pres. is besto girl easily. Sadly she's barely in the show. (which is another point towards, if it was longer she would have more scenes ! >.< ) One thing that i liked about MC was his overall design/development. His chuuni-complex is really well done. some of the best scenes are where it seems like he's about to break character or at least thinking of it, and his chuuni just overwhelms and takes over. Also, it's really interesting to see how he deals with average every day problems (like he's trying to be a normal person for that moment when he has to, but he absolutely can't). + Show Spoiler [finale] + I'm pissed that they didn't go into the war more. This is specifically where they needed more eps. They could have turned this into something really cool with MC's harem kicking everybody's ass in the fairy war. i've also picked up Akatsuki no Yona and caught up. Man this is so up and down with me. One episode im like, this is real good and im desperate for more...then the next im like super bored and can hardly keep watching. I'm so unsure about this one. Still, i was at like episode 11 and i was thinking "this is only 1 cour? how the hell are they supposed to end this in 1 episode" until i checked and realized there's a lot more coming. And to be honest, i was really glad that there's a lot more. I'm definitely interested. | ||

Personally, I think it has better pacing. I originally tried watching the tv series, but switched to the movies after ep 10 or so. | ||

I prefer that the show i watch doesn't have an added "fantasy" or "scifi" twist if i watched the show for romance/SoL aspect of it. Although there are some exceptions most of them are usually just some kind of pretext for the romance/SoL parts to happen(in some cases i'm ok with it). I learned that i would never enjoy anything i watch in anime or any entertainment medium in general. If i gave thought at every aspect of the show I would never enjoy them since all i would do is complain and very few shows would be watchable for me. Instead i focus on the parts that i liked for the show. Of course there are other exception which i enjoyed all the aspects of the show but those are the good ones. To give you an example i don't care about Inou Battle's part of them having powers(supernatural parts). I'm just watching that show for the SoL/Harem/romance part of it. Well about haruhi . It's probably an exception since i love haruhi dude. It's probably because Haruhi is a textbook "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" if i really think about it. @bolded part: It's ok i like a lot of random shit and my taste heavily depends on my mood at the moment. There are times i love watching harem/ecchi shows then the next day i absolutely loathe watching them. (I don't understand myself too !) | ||
