And, of course: Top Anime 2014 Hoozuki no Reitetsu - Solid comedy. It's shugyou. Shoutout to Silver Spoon s2 for killing animals. Looking through my list, there is a decided dearth of shows I actually liked this year. I had way more shoutouts last year. Top 3 OPs Ping Pong. Pretty great OP when they finally got around to finishing it. Visually interesting and decent music to boot. JoJo Part 3. I still think it pales in comparison to the OPs of part 1 and 2, but that's a pretty high bar to meet. Sidonia. Largely because I'm running out of stuff I actually liked. I did think the almost patriotic march-like music at one point in the OP was pretty interesting and a fitting choice though. Shoutout to Garo for having an interesting visual style for the op, even if it looks like shit in places. Top 3 EDs Tonari no Seki-kun. Amazing ED that screams of effort. They even managed to keep it in the spirit of the show! Also dat jazz. This is my top pick by far. Grisaia no Kajitsu. Largely for the animation. I can't remember any other EDs that stood out to me this year. Worst Anime You Actually Finished Aldnoah.Zero by far. It's not often that a show kills the same character three times. Apparently people don't die when they are killed. Shoutout to Psycho Pass 2 for being pointless. Shoutout to Sekai Seifuku for having 2 great episodes before degrading into utter shit. Shoutout to the Imas movie for completely fucking everything up except the fake trailer. Shoutout to Patema Inverted (subbed in 2014, it counts!) for having one of the most questionable villains in existence. I expected it to suck. The plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but the characters are actually pretty decent. Guilty Pleasure Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta. What a terrible plot. Pretty good flying scenes though. Best Male Character Cumpa from G Reko for being a manipulative, glorious bastard. Shoutout to Herman from Garo for being a based dad. Shoutout to Hoozuki for being Hoozuki. Best Female Character Miwa from Barakamon for being a bearable version of Natsumi from NNB. I liked pretty much all her scenes. Shoutout to #1 Shoutout to Emma from Garo for being a total badass. Shoutout to Tensai from Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin for almost making the show bearable. Best Seiyuu I dunno. Might as well pick Sugita again. Here's mine. Top Anime of 2014: Haikyuu!: I've surprised myself with this choice. After going through the list of this year's anime, there were quite a lot that I thoroughly enjoyed, but none of them were as consistently good as Haikyuu to me. Nozaki/Barakamon/Hoozuki/Silver Spoon/Mushishi all had their lulls, as good as they all were overall. Meanwhile, it was nice to see a volleyball anime, and it was executed quite well, and I loved it throughout. Can't wait till S2! Best OPs (fuck, this is hard): Nisekoi OP1: ClariS ftw. Kawai Complex: fhana ftw. Mahouka OP1: Yanagi Nagi ftw. Shoutout to: Shigatsu wa Kimo no Uso's OP and GBF Try's OP. Goosehouse/BACK-ON ftw. Skipping best EDs because I don't remember many. Biggest Surprise: Nisekoi. I didn't think it'd be good due to all the negative opinions surrounding it. It turned out to be quite enjoyable. Guilty Pleasure: Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka. Chino-tan~ Best Male Character: Shiro, the dog from Hozuki. That counts as a male, right? Best Female Character: It's between Chiyo-chan (Nozaki) and Mirai (GBF Try). Best Seiyuu: Male: Sakurai Takahiro. He's made a huge comeback to anime. This year alone he had roles in: + Show Spoiler + Akatsuki no Yona Akuma no Riddle Aldnoah Zero Ookami Shoujo to Kuroouji Gugure! Kokkuri-san Grisaia no Kajitsu Psycho-Pass Sidonia no Kishi Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen Shingeki no Bahamut Soul Eater NOT! Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii Tokyo Ghoul Donten ni Warau Nanatsu no Taizai Nobunaga Concerto Nobunaga the Fool Noragami Buddy Complex Hitsugi no Chaika Fairy Tail Baby Steps as well as other roles drooping over from 2013 such as Crusty from Log Horizon and Miyuki from Daiya. You shouldn't try to define it that far because you'll talk past like half of the people everytime when you use that strict definition. And the guy who defined it is probably just random wannabe 17yo neckbeard. Better way to find out what word means is searching pics and lurking. | ||

It has been really good so far, thoroughly enjoyed it. And man, Akio is such a great character. AOTY:UBW Close:Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun Nisekoi was also nice. Biggest suprise: Nozaki-Kun Biggest dissapointment:Grisai/GBF Try(the last one mostly because I had huge expectations because of the first season and while this one is nice its eh, lacking something although I can't pinpoint what, maybe its hayamin). NGNL / Nozaki-kun Top 3 OPs Nisekoi, first one Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou Nozaki-kun Top 3 EDs Yuukei Yesterday (Mekakucity Actors) Amaburi ED NGNL ED Worst Anime You Actually Finished Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara and Date A Live II. If I have to pick one it's probably the first because Date A Live will be my guilty plessure as well and as such it had more to it that I actually enjoyed (boobs) Most Unintentionally Hilarious Scene Can I just say everything in Mahouka / Magic Jesus for this one? That shit was hilarious. I mean, the guy was karate-chopping people's limbs off (or so it looked like. I am aware that that isn't what actually happened) Biggest Surprise NGNL. Ragz hyped it like crazy in irc (apparently?) but I completly missed out on it. Shit was good. Other than that probably Amaburi. I REALLY expected it to go down the drain around episode 7 or so but it ended up being constantly good. Guilty Pleasure Date A Live II. I don't think I have to explain this. Watched it for Kurumi and Kurumi alone and that's pretty much all it had going for it. And a sunlotion scene with the two twins. Best Male Character Kaiki from Hanamonogatari Kanie West from Amaburi Best Female Character Jibril from NGNL Ene from Mekakucity Actors (mostly because OMAGAWD Kana Asumi) Seo from Nozaki kun Chiyo from Nozaki kun.
