(plus u didnt see bols laughing when killing those people, he did it because if he doesnt someone else will and later on in life he has to take care of his family the city is super corrupt i would be surprised if its super hard to support a family, also hes part of an incineration squad, i dont doubt some of those guys in the squad would have be psycho and loved killing but that wasnt bols there were also probably times where they did have to actually fight people who were in the rebellion (which to him means destroying the life hes build for his daught and wife) and not just innocent villages, theres like almost no way for him to tell.
Its like huges(my favourite character) from FMA, he helped with a huge genocide but he knew it was a terrible thing he did and people dont hate on him for that, they're always sad because a family losing a parent is just so sad T_T

It was sad what happened to Bols, but the argument of "i was being ordered" is moot. it's like all those nazi's that were ordered to exterminate people (jews, gays, blacks, and whatnot) in the camps. They had families too, but you don't see people going, "aww poor nazi, he was just being ordered". Sure he probably knew he was on the "evil" side or that he was doing "evil" things, but there comes a point where you just have to say no and refuse the orders. At any point he could have stopped from doing the terrible things he was doing and gone into hiding with his family to protect them and do the right thing. He just didn't want to sacrifice his comfortable life (which gives him very little sympathy from me).

+ Show Spoiler +Ryu's statement is spot on imo. I mean, in the end, he chose what to do. You can say he was given an order etc... but he chose this job despite knowing what it meant and in the end, got what was coming to him. He even kept talking about it, that he's killed a lot and he'll likely be killed and it happened. That's not to say that I didn't feel sorry for him or for his family since he died, that wasn't the case. I liked his personality. I'd rather both him and Chelsea survived and Leona and Kurome died instead.
Also, last statement. Yes, they could've disrupted his comfortable life but how did he get that comfortable life to being with? By carrying out the capitals' orders and killing a lot of (likely) innocent people in the villages. It doesn't matter if 20% of the time he's killing "bad" people, he earned that comfortable life through the killing of others. I guess my point is: I'm sure he could've found another job that allowed him to live a comfortable job without harming others and he would've been alive at this point.
