It's probably the majority that fit with that description but there is still a lot of fictional characters that aren't _just_ an aggregation of tropes.

I suppose the message i wanted to convey was too vague. Often times, i see people(not necessarily people here, just general observation) who think tropes are some sort of indicator of "objective quality"(i probably internalized this as well after getting it shoved at me relentlessly over the years) when in reality they are only just categories and trends. Your personal biases will affect how you see each tropes. What really matters is how the tropes are used or executed.

Fictional characters that didn't belong to a trope before just become a new trope. The database never stops

See people, this is good fellow right here is a good case example of why you don't watch Fate/Zero before reading FSN. Things like the spoiler in his spoiler would have absolutely no impact if you do the wrong order, since F/Z just treats it very matter-of-factly. And he isn't even up to Heaven's Feel yet.

ya, it became outclassed but then once they got the upgrades, they rose up again. I can't remember Heero's last gundam(00 if I recall) but that thing was more powerful than any other gundam or weapon barring epion(sp?) and in a way, it keeps my statement valid since you can still upgrade gundam. Either way, its not necessary for you to take shots at him half the time he posts about something, regardless of what it is or if you are involved in the conversation.

Well, even if Sent is being extreme, BigFan made 2 claims that don't work together
1) He has only ever seen the original gundam series
2) He never saw the original gundam series
he also mixed up like 3 different gundam series together which makes the first claim really weird, and he never admitted he messed up or corrected himself, but just randomly changed what series he was talking about by saying he never watched the show he just said he had watched, so I can definitely see why Sent got so annoyed with him.

Meh, I mix up shows all the time, sometime they just scramble together... Not that I would mix up gundam series or stuff I actually liked.

Mixing up stuff is fine as long as you own up to it. Anyway if anyone thinks I'm out of line, there are better ways to deal with it than derailing this thread over it. But for the record, insulting me isn't a good strategy to get me to change the way I post.

I find it hard to believe that Sentenal would take that "huge insulted gundam fanboy pride goggles" comment as an "insult" given the thick skin shown to have in the past. I don't think constantly giving BigFan that treatment is going to change anything either and could be seen as a series of insults as well.

Maybe it's time to rewatch some older stuff, getting bored with some of the current shows.

I previewed fall season and found out that there are something like 14 shows I'm interested in watching and another four or five I still want to at least try. I have more important things, damn you anime.

For the record in Extra/Unilimited Takaru(and no Shinji isn't a generic MC or an MC either) is your generic MC, you should read Alternative if you want to see the good stuff

This show is amazing but the utter lack of romance is giving me a migraine. I mean it's action and I don't expect much, but absolute zero is just frustrating when there are so many good pairings.
