If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

Much better, unbiased poll. How wonderful it is Souma! Truly, your poll put more effort in, than many of those Animes combined! I wouldn't know how to vote otherwise!

Now you make me feel bad, Reaper.

I should have removed Barakamon from the poll!

Its hard to say whats the best this season. Despite this season being decent enough to get me watching anime, compared to next season, its hard to get hyped about any of it.

Nozaki is more inventive but I don't care about those themes so I dropped.
Barakamon has cheery awesome loli in it and it end's up being the only series I watch from this season.
as useful as teasalt

Barakamon, Nozaki-kun, Rokujouma provide a very solid trio for me from this season and Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance has been a really nice surprise, I almost didn't try it because it is similar to dragonar in many ways but it turned out to be good unlike dragonar. Ao Haru I am pretty meh on since I know its going to be a hack job on the story (one that I already read from the source) but its nice to see the art animation for it so I have kept it. Tokyo ESP is one of those series that it takes me a while to actually sit down and watch it but once I do I go "oh, why did I wait so long to watch this, this is interesting".

I also dropped a fair amount of shows from this season too, the most recent being Sabagebu.

I feel the same though I would add Aldnoah.zero into that mix and take out Seirei Tsuka no Blade Dance. Argevollen can have its good episodes too but it feels too boring at times lol.

I'm not sure if I would stretch to call Blade Dance "really good" but it's certainly better than I expected it to be. Or even still expect it to be, I go into every episode with trepidation and end thinking it wasn't actually that bad, but that doesn't stop me from dreading the next episode. I'm happily surprised I'm still keeping up, unlike Rokujouma which I'm having trouble trying to still care about.

That being said Kamito's "nope" moment this last episode really cracked me up for some reason.

Next season going to be the best season in a long while

Blade Dance is just your generic harem of the season.

is reading the rest of the LNs worth my time?

Yes, starts slow but gets pretty good. Also the stuff is just much better in text form than anime.

do you recommend reading the LNs the anime already covered?

Probably a good idea, it'll fill in a fair amount of details. Also do some fights more justice.

thanks for the rec, I'm enjoying the LNs a lot
I think I like it better after I watch the animes as it gives my imagination a framework to run with, but reading the novels also fills in quite a lot of blanks which I initially thought were plot holes
win win for me in the end

as a bonus the bt translations aren't a complete trainwreck like the others
