I wish I did this when I read through Umineko the first time. Compiling my thoughts as I went would have helped. I also made a big mistake of pausing to read Little Busters inbetween ep4 and ep5, which resulted in me forgetting a lot of stuff from the first 4 eps. I eventually figured it out in Episode 6, but its possible to do by ep4 if you pay real close attention.
Also, Shana=Shannon?
And this isn't really a spoiler, but the only servants allowed to wear the family crest are servants who work under Kinzo, the family head. So a servant hired by one of the other family members wouldn't be permitted to wear it.
As an aside, are you reading the original version, or the PS3 patched version?

It's just, they make it feel like it's a huge deal saving this country then they immediately completely forget about the country and never go back (sure they make mention of it at times...like when morgana ran into ali`baba's older brothers). I donno, i feel like they spent way to much time on a mediocre storyline and it pulled the rest of the show down a bit.
Agree to some extent, but that's why S2 > S1. + Show Spoiler +I also really liked how they conveyed how the head of the magic school became the way he did.

Agree FMA is my favourite as well & think it is the best over all. Think it should be literally the first anime/manga anyone recommends to anyone skeptical of anime/manga as it can be appreciated by everyone.
But from reading Magi the story, characters, and world is done in a much more convincing manner than most other manga I've read. + Show Spoiler +I wasn't remotely bored listening to the history of it all and am actually genuinely interested to see where it goes from here. To the point where I think it could be one of the best mangas of all time if it continues down this path. However with the massive inflation of power levels where people are starting to throw nukes around it may go down a path of shit instead. But I have some faith in the author! Hmm this isn't really a spoiler. ;o .

I'm playing the ps3 patched version. Is there a difference that I should know about? The game is confusing so far and I'm not sure whats real and what is fake. I'm guessing that things I'm reading isn't completely true because+ Show Spoiler + I read the first manga of Higurashi and came to the conclusion that the MC maybe wasn't seeing what was actually happening on my own which someone told me was correct . I only read the first 3 volumes of Higurashi so I never finished it but Im a little familiar with the authors style from that. I'm having little luck however with Umineko. Whenever I think i got something figured out it just fucks with you like + Show Spoiler +the faces of the victims missing for some reason . although reading this vn gives me a headache its honestly pretty awesome that a vn is making me actively think lol.
Also I just got to the rule of red. Is this something in general that I can reliably count on?

The thing about magi which I reallly like about it is the characters. They feel interesting and complex which stands out from alot of similar mangas of the genre. The characters have thier own agenda and act in the grey at times. But I agreed the power ups are getting a bit worrisome but we will see.

Ecael and I are somewhat purist in that we liked the original version more, so was just curious as to which you are reading.
As opposed to Higurashi, Umineko actually attempts to follow the rules of mysteries. If you are on episode 2, thats the chapter were the author just lays you down and fucks you. Come episode 3 and 4, you get a better idea of how to approach it. There are some more things I could say about how to approach the mystery, but I think a lot of the fun is to figure it out yourself, so I won't comment on much more.
As far as the Red Truth goes, it is pretty much the only thing you can trust as 100% true. huehue I'm so clever.

well the ones i opened i was thinking they were discussion of the previous episode and not talking about the future of the anime based on having read the manga. Oh well, I'll just have to be more careful

Well I'm not into reading manga, so i donno where it's at now...but to be honest at the end of S2 the powerups were already ridiculous. So of course it's gonna get real bad...they really had nowhere to go from where. I also enjoy the characters though, they have great personalities that mix and mash really well. To be frank, the best part is the setting/world it's in. I freaking love it. I just wish there was a lot more dungeons and shit like that...they really made me think that was the focus of it, but then they only show like 1 or 2 dungeons

Aldnoah - It's ok. The MC is pretty boring. I don't really care for any of the cast, in fact. While the show itself is not particularly bad, I don't look forward to it at all. Also, why is the entire Martian side composed of idiots? They can't even prevent some random guy from stealing a ship. It also seems a bit odd how impractical all the Martian mechs are.
Argevollen - The main duo are still annoying. Would it kill them to focus more on the side characters?
Nozaki - Pretty decent. Depends on the skit though.
Barakamon - See above.
Rokujouma - As expected, the drama is awful.
Yama no Susume s2 - I maintain that 10 minute eps is too long.
Zankyou - For such a pretty show, it's almost criminal how boring the plot has been thus far. Hopefully this new character will mix it up a bit. Also, Lisa a shit.
Fate/Kaleid - Still waiting on based shota. Kuro's doing a great job carrying though.

Girls und Panzer was everything I could have hoped for in a cute girls in tanks anime

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance is like this season's dragonar academy but with a bit less ecchi, better girls, better mc, and better setting/plot. Probably the anime that is the biggest surprise because my expectations were so low for it.

i think it's going alright. i have trouble liking any of the girls though so it's hard + Show Spoiler +
I'm really interested in seeing how OP the MC can get, and his connection with this Ashbell (thats the name right?) character.

All of the movies are pretty good (some less than others but yeah). Worth watching just for the animation/music alone and some of the fights are pretty epic.

Like most of Type-Moon's other works (IMO so far). If you generally like the pacing and writing style of Nasu (Fate/Zero doesn't count. Urobutcher wrote it), you'll like KnK. The series is fucking massive though, 720p is 26gb for 8 movies.
