Kalafina is godlike. They've been my favorite Japanese group since they started five years ago.
Interestingly I tend to like their non-anime songs better.

i enjoy kalafina but also buck tick, yousei teikoku, nano and supercell

I like those a lot too!

Yep, as much as I like Kirito and Asuna, I'm always glad to not see too much of the other girls (besides Suogo). I liked the new episode a lot. Sinon might become a really good character.

I'd probably be cringing most of the time.

So Barakamon Ep.2. It's still cutesy with good performances from the VAs, and the quality continues as more characters get screen time today. The Mayor's wife hits it out of the park and drove probably the funniest moments and facial expressions in the episode.
That said, it has some pacing issues. It feels a bit rushed; A bunch of chapters with a bit more detail kinda got blazed through all at once, and in a bit of a different order than expected (The illness scene happens as late as Chapter 24). Where the first episode seemed to be going at a perfect pace, the second one falters a bit.
When I go into a Slice of Life show, I kinda feel like pacing is one of the biggest factors in how much I love a series. Hidamari Sketch to me had absolutely gorgeous pacing and is among my favourites for it. Here's hoping they slow down a bit and chill out with this one.
|
If you read the manga Kibibit, you'll notice why the pacing is a bit rushed. Just not a lot of content as far as I see.
|
We do know why it is a bit rushed, but smart production gets out of it by either slowing things down and taking time to elaborate on chapters or just plain writing up more material to make the pace work. Things like Aria had no problems with just working up content, for example. Ep2 was closer to them just trying to take whatever that looks like it can connect together and then stuff it all in. Pretty much to no avail except to dilute the amount of feels in place.

Ever since someone posted a picture of the weird eyebrows in Hitsugi no Chaika with eyebrows showing through the hair. Now I see it everywhere in shows I'm watching. Can't unsee it now.
|
Embrace the eyebrows. Love the eyebrows. BE the eyebrows. Only then will you truly come to understand the eyebrows.

That style of drawing eyebrows has been around way before Chaika.

I was a happy panda after Argevollen first episode, though the main mech is kinda not fitting military theme partly because of it's coloring. All friends have already bashed down and spoilered glasslip and tokyo ghoul second episodes, but I don't really mind. I am just waiting for aldnoah to see how much can show throw me for a fit again, haha. If terrorists end up as a good guys in a Zankyo, this show isn't getting anything higher that 6/10, i am goddamn tired of this trope.
21 shows for summer is fucking nuts, I hope I will end with less than 10. By not watching TI, EVO, SBA BW, or SC2 tournaments.

Yeah I pretty much just put streams on when I'm eating or something and even then I'd rather just watch some funny dude on twitch than a tourney. Maybe if I still actively played any of those to learn new strats but mostly on a CSGO kick now.
Captain Earth finally shaping up 15 eps in.. they could have paced it so much better to not lose like all their viewership but oh well.

What the... Ao Haru Ride is 12 episodes? Yea I sense another stripped bare bones adaptation, but then maybe I won't get so pissed at the two leads ~_~ 1st episode was ok, had some pretty good art but again it cut some of the intro stuff down (of course) nothing too important and it captured the spirit of the 1st chapter, but I really am wondering how they will play out the story considering in the manga + Show Spoiler +Futa is currently dating that dipshit Touma out of guilt or w/e and Kou just now got his head out of his ass and has decided to make his move.
Tokyo Ghoul did enough to make me want to watch the next episode but it isn't exactly making me have that "I really want to see the next episode" feeling.
Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? It was ok, I feel that the voice acting in this wasn't exactly great and the comedy would have been better if the cast were different and/or better. Kind of reminds me of Kore wa Desu Ka with the random and outrageous female "character types" that the mc encounters except it all happened within the 1st episode and was very rapid fire. I would say they are trying for a parody type but I have a feeling that the plot is trying to take itself seriously (albeit as a super natural comedy plot)

Toad, I just skimmed through Rokujouma no Shinryakusha, looks like this is a winner!

Goddamn it leave my pet show alone, why must you sully everything mj.
Rokujouma is just a fantasy harem that's supposed to give you warm and fuzzy feelings because you have a good guy MC that isn't a blockhead doing good things.
EDIT - Actually no, he is a blockhead, but he kind of has an excuse instead of plot not wanting him to get any. Kinda. Sorta.

Tokyo Ghoul first two episodes seem quite underwhelming to me, but + Show Spoiler +since the MC's adjustment to his new life (or at least eating flesh) seems to be over, I am interested to see what develops next
