Also every season is full of mediocre to unwatchable shows, but this is a season where MJ and Toad struggles to find something to watch, so we can say that it has to be one of the best season in years.

In a season chock full of mediocre to unwatchable shows for me, it's definitely a wonderful bright spot. The MC isn't a bland, blank slate viewer avatar, the kid is adorable a-la Yotsuba, and the manga it's based off of is damn good. I think it's the only thing I'm truly hyped for this season. I really dislike that kind of attitude in people tbh. What, did you miss the "for me" part right after you got done bolding? You dislike the attitude of not liking certain things? Does that mean you also dislike your own? Have you ever heard about snobbism?
Maybe I am taking an overdefensive stance over here, but I just find it amusing people fond of genre which is all about appreciating every little thing in your life don't really follow the suit and claim everything that don't interest them as unwatchable junk in such manner.

Especially since Hanakana was in like every anime last season.

Finished some of the shows from last season. Ping Pong ended up being pretty good, I guess I should start giving sports anime a chance.
Hamatora RE:
+ Show Spoiler +
And of course Nice is alive. I wonder what actually happened back at the cliffhanger moment, guess we'll find out eventually.
Also, moment I saw that girl in the crowd I knew she was batshit.

Out of all anime I recall recognizing Hana's voice only in two series: Mahouka where she voiced my fav girl and Kawaisou, where she played a lead role. Ok, I forgot about trap in Nanana, goddamn this show was one big blob of trainwreck.

After watching some more of Maria-sama ga Miteru I've come to the realization that Mamiko Noto who voiced character like Benten in Uchouten Kazoku and Kotomi from Clannad, sounds incredibly similar to Saori Hayami.

She was also in Break Blade, Mekaku City Actors and Nisekoi which extended into last season.

Get your facts straight. Hayamin sounds like Noto, not the other way around~ Their voice really are similar though in that slightly husky quality, though unlike Noto, Hayamin didn't really get much complaints about it production side in her career. At least, none that made it into random seiyuu trivia on nico dictionary. They even played a family in Taritari, though that probably has more to do with both being [semi] regulars for PA works stuff.

No one's ever serious when they say "worst season," except for maybe the guy who started the whole thing.

That's what I was going for actually. I guess my phrasing was a little off. In terms of seniority of course Noto was first so it has to be Hayamin sounds like Noto. I was just commenting on their similar voice quality like you said. Pull back those reins and lower the torch.

Let me just count presented genres for you: shounen-ai (Dramatic Murder), bishonen (Bakumatsu Rock, Free!, Shonen Hollywood), romcom (Nozaki-kun), romantic drama (Glasslip), generic shonen (Hamatora S2, Sengoku Basara, Persona 4 S2), thriller (Tokyo Ghoul, Zankyo Terror), action (Tokyo ESP, Akame ga Kill, SAO 2), fanservice (Blade Dance, Himegoto, Rail Wars, Momo Kyun), mecha (Aldnoah.zero, Argevollen), shoujo (Ao Haru Ride), mahou shoujo (Sailor Moon Crystal, Majimoji, fate Illya S2), parody comedies (Space Dandy 2, Gundam san), school club activities (Sagabebu, Hanayamata, Jinsei), slice of life (Barakamon).
I don't know how insane one might be who dislikes such valuable diversity, hehe.

This season seems very weak, quite honestly.

Fan service is a genre? Can you have a full show of just that?

it's called porn

This season seems to be not that great.
The only noticeable ones for me are Barakamon and Aldoah.Zero(not even sure .. intro is good but the show seems overly dramatic). Everything else is somehow mediocre or somehow weak.
Glass slip has insane visuals though.

If it's a genre not sure. But there are shit tons of shows that has nothing but fanservice though.
|
"Fanservice" is objective. You can have mecha-service, loli-service, trap-service, imouto-service, onee-san-service, Hanakana-service, Kayano Ai-service... on and on and on...
