I thought the last episode was a lot deeper than expected. Some character developement, a few ethic questions... but that reference to Tahiti totally caught me off guard! I didn't know that show could impress me. Maybe I was just in a good mood?

I've been attempting for force myself to watch Clannad for a very long time now, and I'm only like 10 episodes lol It is definitely not my type of anime. Yeah I watched like 12 episodes of Clannad in 3 days, yeah it was a tear-jerker, but then I took a break from it and I'm in no hurry to get back to it actually -_-. Like people said tear-jerking for the sake of tear-jerking is a nono. It IS a fucking sad life story, but why milk more tears than it is necessary? It's like from episode 1 to 24 things go from bad to worse every episode. If you though things can't get any worse you're in for a shocker - yeah they can, and do in every subsequent episode -_-. Kinda annoying after some time. After some time you wonder what the fuck more can go wrong? I fully expected 1 of the 2 sisters, to get hit randomly by a train/bus at any point given in any episode really just to milk moar drama out of it. I prolly won't finish this anime, nor will I start Air or Kannon -.-. If I'd want drama and tear jerks I'd watch a movie.

I guess I'll keep watching and see where this goes. ^^ personally, i think you sould watch it once you get into university or college... i watched it during my 1st year and i had been living far from my parents for 2 years, looking for job so i think the story is really close to my life ^^... 17 means that you are high school senior, feel free to give it a try ^^

Any suggestions for tear jerkers by the way or dark plot lines for anime? I've sort of run out of anime and am looking for some good ones.

Trust me don't watch Kanon then I know you said you are not going to watch it but, you really won't like it then They overloaded so much stuff into the last few episodes I was at a point I really didn't want to finish it Oh and + Show Spoiler + I hated the first 10 episodes (Makoto's arc)

Basically you have to live away from your parents, learn cooking by yourself, finding houses, jobs and get into a relationship (not 1 or 2 months like high school but 1 or 2 years, i had 2 myself, 5 and 3 years respectively)... After experience all that, you will understand life isn't just that easy as what you imagine back in school... watching these type of anime wont give you fun or relax but a heads up on what could happen to your life in the next few years... i decided to stop after clannad since i have to experience my own life instead of watching those =.=... @Alou: welcome, just pm me if you want any advice on picking anime ^^

Eh, I like Clannad a lot because I find it easy to relate to Tomoya's experience in high school. I mostly hang around girls (partially due to my effeminate personality and sexuality) and I have a really close guy friend and had a few nice relationships. However, unlike the girls in Clannad who are cock hungry for Tomoya, half of the girls are simply friends which I am fine with.

What better to own the spotlight twice than be a pansy the whole series > : ) On a side note, Touko totally went on an acid trip after reading that story, lol.

![]() Way to rub salt in the wound. T_T Edit: Another new girl? Sheesh. I wonder if anyone's keeping track of the number of girls in the story. It's gotta be in the twenties at least.

I love animes and mangas. I really enjoy them. But somehow I get this feeling that I've already seen all the good ones. Well, wait - let me rephrase that: I've already seen all those that are interesting for me. It's the same thing every season of the year: I eagerly wait for the big picture that grants me a glimpse on the animes of the next season and again and again I am disappointed to find almost nothing good to watch. Sometimes there are one or two good animes that I'll be able to watch. I really hope that someone out there can suggest me some good animes! Here are some of my favourites: Bartender ![]() I love it so much. It's mature, it's relaxing and teaches you some lessons in the subjects of 'life' and 'bars'. Ristorante Paradiso ![]() One or two may not like the drawning-style of this, but I really enjoy it. It's - just like Bartender - relaxing and it also has an interesting story. And yes, a story can be interesting even though the world is not about to explode. One Outs ![]() Baseball? Fine with me. Gambling? Sounds cool. Baseball AND gambling? Awesome! Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei ![]() Another anime with quite strange art, but the story is so interesting and gets even better towards the end. Ending and opening are worth a mint, by the way! Nana ![]() Too bad this manga is currently at a hiatus. But it has a solid story, likable characters and grants a peek behind the scenes of punk/visual kei bands in Japan. House of the five leaves ![]() Once again: Anime with a strange style! It's about a insecure ronin looking for a job and gradually sliding into a gang. This is a calm anime as well with barely any fighting but much atomesphere. Ouran High School Host Club ![]() Oh, did I feel girly when I watched this. It's easy digestible and soooo tasty... (id est easy-going and fun to watch) Shows I absolutely disliked are shows like K-ON!! and even Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (I even forced myself to watch until episode 7, but I didn't really like it). And I sadly have no use for things like the Touhou-universe and such. So now YOU can help me by doing one of these options: a) hate me for my terrible, terrible taste b) tell me it would be a huge, huge blunder if I didn't watch anime XY, because... c) cure me from my fear of moe!

![]() As for Hayate, yea, another new character geez. I didn't expect them to try to stuff in another character at this point, way too saturated. And FMP novel reference was hilarious, this might be even more on-date than the Nadesico blu-ray references they had. EDIT - Ouran falls under the moe category a little, no? At least the anime adaptation, manga is still straight up shoujo category imo. Well, I'll just toss out my usual Kara no Kyoukai as a theatrical adaptation that should work for everyone.

Very promising :D | ||
