Haruhi is super popular. Mega-popular.

As an example, I could easily point out Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru to anyone of my RL friends and I'm pretty sure not a single one would know what I'm talking about because aside from OnePiece, Naruto, Deathnote and Gintama they don't know about any animes except for some random ones inbetween because why not. Yet people in here would want to punch me in the face for mentioning that as lesser-known comedy. Heck I could probably mention The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and they wouldn't know what that is. That being said: Silver Spoon would be an example of an anime that was really popular with everyone who has watched a bunch of anime but just wasn't popular outside that circle of people. And it's comedy. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru isn't rly a comedy imo. It's rly strange, one the best anime I watched but black humor is used all the time and it shows a guy going against hypocrisy. It paints the world as a rly dark place.

Genres: Comedy, Romance, School
It also was considered to be put into the picture list when we updated that and if I'm not mistaken under comedy as well so it's probably a comedy show

Patema inverted: good movie. The concept is a bit complex which I like. There was a focus on the story with a bit of romance (if you can even call it that) which I felt was well done. + Show Spoiler +So, I guess in the end, she found the equivalent of Aiga's world. The stars part did feel a bit confusing though.
Any other good movies that you guys can recommend?

In all seriousness though Baka to Test is best. lol. Bake has a lot of followup seasons (neko, 2nd season and others I can't recall) so it will require commitment once I start it which is why I haven't yet (aside from first 1-2 episodes). hmm maybe I'll watch two animes at the same time then lol. It has follow up seasons, but at least for the two of them that I watched, they are self-contained enough for you to watch one season, and then take a break, or even watch one and not continue at all. do you remember which ones you watched? was it the first two?

5cm per second is also good but only if you are in the mood for slow-paced depressing stuff. Kare no Kyokai Series is highly regarded.
I am waiting for Tamako Love Story and hope it is good. Check the recommendation list bigfan. Most of the movies their are pretty good.

Patema was god awful. Literally the worst anime movie I've ever seen in my life. It holds the same rank as all the Naruto movies I watched over the years holy hell.
How the guy who managed to make Eve no Jikan, which was a great movie and one of my favorite anime movies, created this blows my mind.

The premise was ok. And then they introduced the world and it all went to shit.

So this week I finished three anime, two of which I was holding off on for a while since I wasn't in the mood to finish them quite yet.
First one was Chuunibyou S1. I actually dropped it the first time I watched it, but then gave it another chance since a lot of people seemed to like it. I got to episode 10 before putting it on hold for a while. The series started off quite interesting and I was enjoying it. The animation whenever they went into chuu2 mode was absolutely gorgeous and they had a lot of entertaining scenes. And then... came the drama. And it dragged on and on, which really crushed any potential the show had. Anyway, I give the series a 6/10. Touka and Nibutani are the best characters as they have boobs.
Second series was Nisekoi, like many of you. Here is my pure, unadulterated opinion of Nisekoi: One of the best harem anime I've seen to date. For an anime that is full of cliches and is almost as generic as they come, the amount of enjoyment I got from it is surprising. When it comes to these types of anime, for me, the most important element is the characters. I don't really give much thought to the "plot" or the "romance" or whathaveyou (unless they're just EXTREMELY bad or EXTREMELY good). And when it comes to assessing anime characters, a huge factor is the seiyuu. Nisekoi nailed the voice cast perfectly. Even Chitoge, who's really just the typical violent tsundere and an archtype that I don't really like, is so well portrayed that she may even be my favorite chick in the show. Kudos to Touyama Nao for the stellar performance. Everyone else nailed their role as expected. And of course, another factor that actually made Nisekoi better than the average generic harem was the direction and production value. That was no surprise though, obviously. 8/10.
Third series was Fairy Tail S1. Yes, I finally finished it. I was on the last arc but was hesitant on finishing it since I knew it ended kinda abruptly, but since S2 just started I figured I might as well finish it. My opinion of Fairy Tail is that it's extremely average. That's really all I can say about it. The fight scenes are predictable and even many of the fights are boring. The humor gets me every now and then. It had some really stupid shit + Show Spoiler +(time skip -> second origin/Natsu always randomly being ridiculously strong) but also some great things (lots of Erza, lots of Erza, lots of Erza... and lots of moemoe Noto (Mavus) during the last arc). In any case, it gets a 6/10.
My backlog is still never-ending, unfortunately, as I keep adding stuff to it every week. ;; But I will go on another drop spree soonish I'm sure.

Just watch Tamaket already

Looking for anime fans who live in New York City. Reply back. Thank you!

Very happy that I actually read the entire ef VN before watching the anime. Seems like yet another butchering.
I feel like watching some animes that aired in 2013-2014, any recommendations? Preferably action/fantasy/scifi/thriller/psychological/horror/philosophical/deep/dark and things like that, no harems or comedies please(they can be minor elements). Strong female lead is bonus points. Lack of useless annoying good-for-nothing male main char(looking at you shingeki no kyojin) more bonus points.
The only one I've really had recommended to me thus far is Jormungand.which seems like it would be worth watching if only because the main female character seems interesting

All the 69!
Well, it's not THAT bad, but it is cliche as hell and not very well executed. Especially the bad guy, it's like they looked up the dictionary definition of "bad guy", and just copy pasted that.

First four episode of Little Busters Ex! is out for anyone who cares. The first route/story is Saya Tokido's. The first episode gave me some Chuunbiyou flash backs but after that it evened out. Saya is pretty cool too.

Erza is like 77% of the reason why I watch/read FT.
