Used to use the old rec list a lot, especially when I wanted to watch older series, so I'm glad to see it being updated. A bit sad to see Trapeze, Boogiepop, Skipbeat and Aoi Bungaku gone from the list (they aren't perfect, but I always thought they were still decent enough to be there for recs).
Also thought of Gin no Saji as more of a slice of life show instead of comedy. Maybe you could swap it to slice of life and put Code Geass R2 in its place instead lol.

Also been wanting to watch Gundam Unicorn, but I've yet to watch the stuff before it. Can I get by with the mobile suit gundam movies or is it recommended to watch the series?

I like the new list much more, though I do have one real complain: the mixed use of English (Nadesico, LoGH, Space Bro etc) name and Japanese name (most of others), bugs me quite a bit.

It's fine standalone, but to appreciate you can refer to Sent's guide to Gundam (link at bottom of the new rec list).

Everything else is w\e but Trapeze is sooooo good.
I still have yet to see anyone who watched Trapeze and didn't like it, pretty sure all the people who voted no didn't even watch it ;_;

Those names are used because that's how every English speaking community refers to them. Nobody calls logh "ginga eiyuu densetsu". Hell, it's already retarded enough that MAL uses that name...
