+ Show Spoiler + yeah so finally they get out of the school I'm so fucking glad they cut down the fanservice, if only fanservice sensei could gtfo it would be perfect D: a new challenger appears! that new sensei (don't remember his name, tooooo late) is such a dick but this series needed an antagonist so bad, I wonder why Rei hates him though also yeah as the ep ended I was like WAIT A MINUTE I'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE ![]() ![]() ![]() + Show Spoiler [let me take you back to 1998] + ![]() ![]() that's fucking right, Resident Evil (Biohazard) 2. SAME FUCKING DIALOG TOO "LET'S MEET AT THE POLICE STATION IT'S SAFER" what the fuck mind is blown /end post.

Season 2 is so shitty though compared to the rest of the series, but that's probably because I watched with Cantonese dubs with English subs lol.

And if you want to go even further back, Yu Yu Hakusho was a really good show of the same genre as well.

I only really watch onepiece and naruto (from time to time) and i want to expand as i'm probably missing out on some awesomeness For some more Shounen(same genre as Naruto and One Piece): Hajime no Ippo ( Watch the original series then New Challenger) Rurouni Kenshin( Starts of slow, but the kyoto arc is one of the greatest shounen arcs of all time, stop watching after that and watch the ovas/read the manga since the rest is horrible filler). Slam Dunk Death Note( 2nd half is meh, but the first part is fantastic and is worth watching/reading) To branch out a little bit in genres I recommend starting out with these: Monster ( several of my friends who don't even watch anime watch this in a couple of days when I give it to them) Black Lagoon ( think of watching a badass action movie, except even more awesome with a lot more style) GTO Berserk ( skip ep 1 imo and watch after finishing) The ones are above are pretty safe bets, and are pretty likable in general and are a good way to start imo. Do not start with bleach though, the author pretty much fucked himself over and the series is pretty much crap right now, it's the worst of the big 3. If you want some slice of life, try: Honey and Clover Nodame Cantabile Edit: Speaking of recommendations, can someone recommend me a light hearted comedy anime in the lines of school rumble/azumanga diaoh/cromartie high school. Or even something similar to H&C would be fine, no melodramatic shojous or romances please.

awesomeness dare I say ... School Days? ![]() if you're into anime movies, watch 5cm per second and the girl who leapt through time, you can't go wrong with those. Working!! is a pretty heart-warming lol inducing comedy and was pretty much one of the best animes of spring '10. Death Note is pretty interesting too (well, the first arc is, after it gets into a big clusterfuck of nonsense that kinda makes sense but only because of very specific situations)

I'm pretty sure it's a lot of homages also, people have pointed out some familiar sound tracks, but a lot of it is just location and random people. Who reminds you of a Hellsing character? It's too bad the manga has been on hiatus for like sooooo long, they could've gotten so much of the story fleshed out, but alas several years of waiting has paid off.

Speaking of anime movies, go watch Paprika. afterwards go watch inception or if you have seen it compare the two.

You can say that for a lot of horror movies as well and action movies and a lot of other shit in media. The question is if you can sell it on the characters being under so much stress so quickly that it's plausible for them do what they do, I think so for HSotD.
