Zaregoto didn't take off, Bungaku Shoujo took ages, given those two Monogatari series probably also hopeless for official translation. Fan work is beyond me. Plus it's nice when a release is actually guaranteed to be done in a certain period of time. ~_~ Monogatari is probably hopeless now that the anime has aired. For a series to get translated quickly, you need rabid fans and/or a super dedicated translator. Series like SAO and index/railgun would be the former, and zaregoto (;; ) the latter. Series that lack both are doomed to eternal translation hiatus.
I'm curious, isn't there copy right issues against fan translation?

If they want to be assholes, then sure. But so long as no one re-packages and starts selling it then I think they close one eye to it since there are no official English translations anyway. While it is an infringement of intellectual property, they don't really have a case about lost revenue.

It's not an issue until you get a C&D. And generally nobody cares enough to do that unless they're localizing it themselves, or are really proactive about protecting their work.
@elt: The main romance in Inari is pretty shit. This never really changes. Fortunately, the side characters are good enough to pick up a lot of the slack.

+ Show Spoiler +As someone that has visited both Kanto and Kansai regions a few times, I really dug the tokyo v osaka nonsense of the past two episodes. I would agree though that as a main character Ryuko is a little typical - the super angry and determined (but not very skilled) protagonist. Still the supporting cast is pretty fantastic (Nudist Beach can do no wrong)

Good episode, love how they didnt overpower Ryuko2.0. And there must be something going on between Mako and the sadistic macho guy lol

How can Chuuni S1 be so boring while S2 is really good?

Clearly you are wrong about S1 :D

Only difference is we get a new really nice character so it gives an illusion of that s1 was worse.

Cat dead last. Kanbaru doesn't even exist in S2, Karen even less of a thing. Probably going to continue to be the case in S3 as well. People that don't generate lines in Monogatari can't be good, sadly. Though if you just want a waifu then all that goes out the window~ I do think that Kanbaru and Karen are too incessant and shallow to have around all the time. However, I do find them to be the most enjoyable when they're interjected in short bursts of interaction with the other characters, and in these instances I actually find them to be more enjoyable than any other character in the show. They have a novel level of energy, perverseness, and spontaneity that the other characters don't (I'd say insanity, but all the characters are insane in their own ways). Nice contrast to the pussyfooting/brooding/conniving nature some of the other characters show.

So more like they aren't around enough for you to have enough things to dislike about them. Wait for Hana where it is just Kanbaru internal monologues for like 70% of the book.
One thing though, unless every other character really sucks, I have a hard time justifying calling minor characters the best in a series. The amount of appearances is just too different more often than not unless the one generating the content is purposely trying to keep things that way. Nishio obviously knows what he is doing when he keeps Gahara-san appearances low and yet maintains her presence. Kanbaru somewhat enjoys that treatment. Karen at this point is practically just a minor character that will from time to time show up and drop some lines while things happens at Araragi household.

It's like when you meet somebody for the first time and they seem pretty cool, then you see them a few more times here and there and you continue to think that they're fun, and then you begin to learn more about their personalities that make you go 'wait, what?'
If you take that analogy, I'm at the 'you're still pretty chill' stage with Kanbaru/Karen/Tsukihi.
Now, with works of fiction the problem is that I might encounter a minor character and be like 'hey, you're a pretty interesting person, I'd like to know you better' and have that trajectory under the control of a third party (the author/writer/director), but that doesn't keep me from thinking positively of that character, minor or not. That said, (I haven't read the LNs but assuming that the animes haven't strayed too far from them,) Nishio has done a good job of keeping the probably most vapid characters from having too much presence to keep them the most interesting to me.
Not sure how much I look forward to Kanbaru's internal monologues.

They were objectively good but not very monogatari-like and so people hate it.

The romance seems generic atm but the main girl is cute. Its all about Ukanomitama though :3 Plus Amaterasu was pretty good.
