omg wtf did I just watch? I would've never expected that specific ending for SD. Thoughts (long but I wanted to rant, stupid MC): + Show Spoiler +Man, that ending was so fucking brutal to watch. The music they used; they certainly had the impact they wanted. The constant stabs, seeing Sekai in her-out-of-her-mind mode right when Makato read her farewell message on his phone (that was fucking scary) and Makato's tearful eyes as he was dying. As much of a dick as Makato was and I was hoping he'll get taught a lesson due to what he did with Katsura (I was actually wishing that his behaviour leads someone to pregnancy so he learns), I would've never wished him to death. I also never would've imagined that Sekai would be the one to stab him. That was quite painful to watch. As soon as it happened and Sekai left without killing herself, I had a feeling that Katsura will finish her off or at least that she's going to die but man, I'm not even sure what to think of the ending.
Poor Katsura as well :'( I was rooting hard for her and hoping that she'll somehow bounce back from him neglecting her, from both Makato and Sekai not even telling her about their relationship even though she eventually knew and the constant harass from Setsuna and other members of her class which imo was to the point of ridiculousness. At one point, I thought that maybe she's going to commit suicide after seeing the knife in the kitchen when she was up at night since I read that someone dies in a spoiler by accident but then this. I thought that maybe she finally recovered after Makato chose her since it seems he thought back to how it all started and wanted to go back to being with her per his original intentions but apparently his death was too much for her to handle and then she ends up packing him in a pack(wtf!) and takes his head with her on the yacht so that she's with him... I've actually watched a movie that ended up with a policeman's wife's body and unborn child(she was pregnant) in a bag and that got delivered by a taxi to the policeman as he was about to arrest(almost kill) the guy who killed her. In the end, he ended up killing him and got taken in so I've seen a similar ending but again, Katsura having that evil smile right when she blocked Sekai's knife then killed her wasn't something I expected.
Then everyone else having sex with Makato as the anime went on as if it's a game and Makato just toying around and not realizing that he should've stopped at Sekai. What is up with this school? I'm almost tempted to say he deserved what he got but I wouldn't wish that on anyone and it's not like he's the only one who suffered from his actions and then death. Both Katsura and Sekai suffered so much due to him and we saw what happened. Katsura couldn't get over the fact that Makato was neglecting her since he couldn't score that easily with her. Sekai couldn't get over the fact that he just jumps from one person to another and doesn't want to tie himself down with anyone so he would never be hers and take responsibility for the child which was apparently a lie or at least that's what Katsura said. I would've preferred that Katsura got taken in and helped through counseling and meds rather than have her cling to his head in the middle of the sea on her yacht so that at least, one of them has been helped but I guess the author had a different idea. Just imagine if they made that last scene at the yacht more graphics *chills*
On the anime as a whole, there wasn't anything special about it. High school drama with the idiot MC being someone who only cares about having sex and doing perverted things so he neglected his first gf and started hooking up with more classmates for the sex and such but never taking responsibility. I actually liked most of the characters early on and some till the end. Sekai was nice and helped Makato hook up with Katsura even though it seems like it was for her own benefit. Katsura was pretty sweet and always had this ray of innocence and purity to her and Makato was some high school student that's seen too many movies or read too many love books etc... so I figured once he dumped the love book and started to learn more about Katsura, he'll get better. Apparently, he's just an idiot that will never learn although Sekai killing him after he recommended an abortion so he can avoid responsibility was a bit too much. sigh and to think that it started out as a rather somewhat pleasant anime. The only part that was special if you can call it that was the last episode with how everything ended. Who would've expected that Sekai would kill Makato and in turn get killed by sweet Katsura who didn't seem like she would hurt a fly early on.
I don't particularly hate this anime but I'm also not a fan of the ending at all so I can't say I fully love it either. I do have to say that I wonder what the main purpose of this anime was. Love and betrays hurt? ya, thanks for the message. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that. Most of the rest seemed standard for an anime of this type but the ending did feel a bit out of place. I would've figured Sekai would commit suicide or if not as violent, never speak with him again(with or without an abortion) with counseling and support. I would've rather he settled with one of them and dealt with the other one through supporting her rather than having all three of them end up dead or psychos and live in a yacht with a head!!!!! Just thinking about the ending again makes me feel sick ><

even though you are not saying it directly from what you wrote .. This just means you hate SD ! yes BigFan finally cracked ! well i'd like to think that you are not invulnerable even to SD because if you are. I highly doubt anything will ever disappoint you lol.
Anyways back to SD i was actually rooting for Sekai. I know I know she is a bitch but idk i kinda root for her than Katsura. That doesn't mean i don't fucking hate the MC though.
Told you that you would enjoy SD. Well its a unique anime and a whole new experience. And if you are asking what the anime is aimed for just think of that they wanted money and japanese are really weird people.
PS. I suggest you watch something lighthearted like Haruhi Suzumiya or Baka to test or Full metal panic fumoffo. So that the damage done by SD to you would be undone.

I guess you could say....you weren't a big fan.

Kuroda or whatever her name was, the parttime waitress at sweets place, she is the real heroine. Sets everyone up, gets to either be a sex friend or watch everyone dead. Always win never lose.
Also anime is pointless, only point of the game is to make choices and see how far off Makoto can go against the choices that you made. That and lead to cross days for even greater fuckery.
lol Bigfan watched Seven before, clearly should watch psycho pass next for shit and giggles.

Someone mentioned the correct order for Haruhi Suzumiya but I can't find the post. Can someone please point me or post about what the correct order is? I know there's two of them but which would be the better one to watch or less confusing. Also, Buddy Complex gave us more info and hoping for any info dump next episode lol.

Just thinking about the ending again makes me feel sick >< even though you are not saying it directly from what you wrote .. I disliked the ending since the rest seemed like a typical high school drama anime to me. I dunno if that means I disliked the whole anime though lol. Well, I think most are vulnerable to the kind of thing that this anime threw at us so I wouldn't expect many to "like" it. + Show Spoiler +ya, I couldn't help but start feeling sorry for Sekai as well as the anime went on and they started getting close together. I always rooted for Katsura from start to end although what she became at the end was really scary to watch. I hate the MC though. The constant 'it's not my fault' and just fucking around kept pissing me off, it was almost comedic in nature as to how he's so thick headed and doesn't seem to understand what he needs to do and don't do.
I dunno about enjoying it, it was alright, just didn't expect the ending. hmm I guess that's a fair point but did the anime do well in Japan? I would think even they found it bizzare. I was watching Haruhi Suzumiya before SD but I got to episode 13 I think then 14 was the same as 13 and I realized that there was supposed to be a different order to it :/ Haruhi is way too dramatic over nothing at times and parts of it felt boring.

Did the anime do well? What triggered them to even go that far at the end? Why not just settle things properly and if they can't, at least admit Katsura to a psychiatric hospital or something? Was there some ending to the game?
well, I watched it a long time back. It was one twisted film but the part that I recall the most is that ending because it had such an impact. lol no more XD I stopped watching these kind of movies/anime since I wanted to have good experiences and memories, not really dark ones.

Not Setsuna, Kuroda, that twintail that works at a sweets place/pastry shop. Setsuna iirc works at family restaurant.

Supposedly manga ending is: + Show Spoiler +In the final two chapters of the manga, Makoto is accidentally slashed by a maddened Kotonoha, who immediately breaks down in remorse. After being admitted to a hospital, Makoto announces to Sekai that he shall live with Kotonoha to help ease her spirits, only to discover later on that Sekai fatally stabbed Kotonoha so as to prevent her from harming Makoto further, much to his horror. talk about being different lol.

The game had like 13 or so endings, iirc? Like 8 or 9 variations on how people die with the badends.
