Shin Sekai Yori has some pacing issues and the production value is subpar (OST is great though) but keep watching you won't regret it.

Episode 8 is the Shit Sekai Yaoi episode, some people dropped it at that point , but it happens for a reason and it's part of the society presented in the anime.

After the second time skip (Episode 17) until the final episode it's all sweet pay off and what makes this show good.

Not sure how you would come to that conclusion. It was quite slow, but there was a lot of foreshadowing and weird stuff going on.

As for SSY in general, third part was the best, second part was quite good except for some weak episodes and pacing issues. End was really good (even more so when you're used to non-ends from manga/ln adaptions that never get s2 anyway or anime original end).

I mean it wasn't just that, so I should've clarified, since I've loved shows that are much slower. I wasn't liking any of the characters. Wasn't digging the plot (the foreshadowing/weird things you were talking about didn't really make me any more excited to watch) that was going on at the time, and it just wasn't interesting. *shrug* Maybe one day I'll get back into it by SSY just didn't grab me.

I mean, I'll admit I liked the atmosphere too, but a lot of the revelations/foreshadowing kind of fell flat for me because the character reactions to it felt sort of fake, if that makes sense (though I probably haven't gotten to the best part yet obv). Again, I think it's one of those shows I've been meaning to go back and finish, but just don't have time for right now. ;;

Witch Craft Works looks like it has some good elements and potential but I get the feeling its going to get silly/stupid quickly from what they showed in ep 1.

A lot of shows this season I'm kind of holding off on because I read a bit of the manga when they were announced to become anime. I think I read a bit of Noragami and Witch Craft Works. Wasn't really that excited about both, so I'll do a bit more research before deciding if I should pick them up.

edit: Yo, let's set up a night where we can watch Colorful. Apparently only Elem has watched it and he gave it a 10/10!
