Best part has to be ED with everyone in casual clothing though. Good thing they didn't just go "OH SHE SEEMS TRUSTWORTHY, HOW ABOUT YOU JOIN OUR GROUP" à la Dungeons & Dragons about the other imouto. | ||

No, I watched all of them, Macross 7 was the only one I didn't finish, couldn't stand the ridiculousness of the whole musical robot thing after 14 or so episodes, I love shows that do a good job integrating good music into the show but not like this. FMP was just stupid, it wasn't funny except for that one episode, it took itself too seriously, it didn't have good action, I HATED that girl, the guy was fucking stupid (girl didn't help), it was a mess imo but I know other people like it, I just don't. It would have been better if every episode was like that comedy episode. Escaflowne is pretty mecha lol, I mean the robots may not fly in space and they are in a fantasy setting but it's basically medieval/fantasy Gundam. | ||

Found it strangely entertaining. I hate this time of the year where all our favorite TV shows & anime shows come to a slow stand still. Between getting my weekly dosage of Magi season 2 & Kuroko no Basket Season 2, theres not much going on...and Kill la Kill is rubbish. | ||

What I said about Escaflowne was well.. it is not your usual space opera type of mecha or at least futuristic, so I can see why some might see it as a different type of mecha and not 100% mecha. Though it meets one of the requirements perfectly. which is an annoying female lead. Gurren Lagann well hmm yeah it's pretty fucking mecha, but it's about so many other things as well that just another show with robots in it doesn't do it justice at least for me. I don't care, I shouldn't have to put up with 20 episodes of crap just to get to the good bits, besides if I hated the whole musical robot thing now I doubt I'm gonna like it 20 episodes later. I had a similar issue with Eureka, like 15 episodes of faffing around doing nothing and I'm supposed to put up with it and wait till shit gets good.... Well FMP had 1 episode that felt was WAY more comedic than the rest, it was full on silliness, I watched that show forever ago I don't remember the specific episode but it did felt different in tone compared to the rest. Kind of like the 6th episode of kyoukai no kanata. | ||

Your memory of FMP must be as strong as your memories of Gundam Wing. Especially the ENTIRITY of FMP Fumoffu is straight comedy that puts ep6 of KnK to shame. Being "space opera" or "futuristic" are not qualities of mecha. Having mecha is the only thing that makes "mecha" "mecha". To be clear here, I'm taking issue here specifically with calling our taste "awful" while spouting your own as gospel, your incredible misrepresentation of FMP due to faulty memory, and thinking Escaflowne and TTGL are in some non-mecha gray area. You can like what you want, and I don't think any of these points are taking issue with your taste, specifically. | ||
