Um, from the past 3 years, I'd try Baccano or something. Maybe Kara no Kyoukai as well, I dunno.
Edit- and yes, I am aware of the ridiculousness of calling Ergo Proxy needlessly pretentious and then recommending Kara no Kyoukai, which is like the definition of an unnecessarily pretentious show. I wish there was a ban for calling a show pretentious. I wished that there was a ban for complaining about moe
HOW PRETENTIOUS.
It had to be done.
I don't think you're supposed to look at Genshiken expecting a plot, just as you wouldn't for Lucky Star or ARIA or H+C. Although H+C kinda develops one as the series goes on >_>

I'm going to throw Spice and Wolf out there so it gets some love.

Damnit, freaking moe ruining the industry! qq, qq, qq moar.

Shush we all need a bit of moe to keep us happy. At the moment, I am going with 司馬遷萌え!
Read a bit too much nisemonogatari.

Now that I'm home I can add some:
Ninomiya Hikaru's stuff <3 <3 <3 Very mature/seinen topics dealt with.
Ahiro no Sora <-- if you like stuff like H2. Zeroin Hayate x Blade <-- I forgot what it was called before it moved magazines, though. Somewhat shounen-ish fix. Nabari no Ou <-- it got animated, but I didn't watch it to the end, I don't know why, though. Manga is ongoing. Dogs: Bullets and Carnage <-- hard as hell to find raws so I'm definitely not up-to-date And I have to admit I liked LOVELESS (though not up-to-date), but I have high tolerance for these things.
Oh, and Full Metal Panic: Sigma, if you wanna find out what happens in the novels.

Hmm, am i the only one here that thought Ga-Rei manga wasnt bad? Or is it because i read the manga before watching Ga-Rei Zero?
|

|
Hmm, added it to my plan to read. Looked interesting. I'll prolly give it a shot after i finish with Eden.

So once again I must say thank you TL! After looking through the May 2010 desktop thread, I found a cool picture of Saber from Fate/Stay Night. I'd never heard of it before and had an off day today, so I plunked down and watched it all in one sitting. I loved it! It's about time that the main character actually picks a girl, and picks the one we are all rooting for!
Anyway, after watching it I checked out the "tattoo" of command spells for Saber, and found a fan site to Archer that literally blew my mind. I'll put it in here for anyone who hasn't seen this awesome anime yet, and I recommend it
+ Show Spoiler +Archer is Shirō Emiya from the future! Or at least, A future. Apparently in this alternate timeline he went on to become a hero yet was dissatisfied with the life of a Servant (coming back again and again to fight) Which is why he was guiding Shiro to understand his true powers and why even as an Archer he used many different types of weapons, mainly swords that he imaged himself. However, this timeline was different that Archer's past, which explains why Shiro is the complete opposite from Archer.

I've been catching up on Gantz lately, and I soon realized that I have absolutely no idea where the hell the story is going anymore. It just all makes so little sense. There's a bunch of random crap going on + Show Spoiler +eg. there are now two Kuronos, there is some alien colony, people control Gantz, alien abduction raids, etc. and practically none of it gets explained.
+ Show Spoiler [Random Eva 2.22 images/thoughts] +This is what's going to happen if BP can't plug their oil well. I mean the part where all sea life is dead, not the warships, in case you didn't get it. And this scene creeped the heck out of me. I blame the original series. ![[image loading]](http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/2090/utwthoraevangelion222yo.jpg) + Show Spoiler [Saki] +![[image loading]](http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/5512/6516.png) lololol What kind of school dresses their students up as mikos? Well, it's not like realism is the strong point of this series... Isn't this the school that gets ryuiso (all green) in the anime preview? It's the weirdest hand in mahjong, really. Gotta wonder who came up with that one. I never thought of K-on as manzai comedy before. I guess it does fit the pattern though.
Edit: I keep trying to read comics from right to left. TT

TT I tried watching the Gantz anime and got three like three episodes before I put it on hold to find out more about the series. I looked around for a good five minutes, and people all seemed to be saying that it makes absolutely no sense, even in the manga despite its however-long run...
Like wtf...lol.

I watched the anime first, and I will admit, the manga definitely gets better after Ga-Rei Zero'd been released, but its horrendous start is nigh unforgivable.
One thing I definitely miss in the manga is the MC (can't remember her name) using swords ):

Spazer, I don't know if you brought up Gantz by sheer coincidence or brought up Gantz after seeing Psyren being discussed. But yeah, Psyren blatantly ripped off of Gantz, changed it from R to PG-13, and made it not as fun. Yes, Gantz is not making sense, but it was hilariously awesome that wasn't meant to be taken too seriously.

There's a movie coming up that follows the UBW route of F/SN if you're interested. There's a discussion of that a few pages back. (Coupled with incessant Shirou bashing =D). Essentially, the anime series followed one of three alternate telling of the story from the game, and the movie will follow the second.

:[ Not really related to anime, but I just finished the VN Planetarian T______T. So sad... does anyone else have recommendations for visual novels? (very much enjoyed crescendo + yume miru kusuri. wasn't a fan of tsukihime, then again, only played the arc route)
|
gantz and psyren are clearly not the same . yes the start look the same but after the first arc end the story realy change . psyren pg-13 ? maybe at the start . because that realy bloody the more you read . and after chapter 90++ that totaly seinen .
random page from a later chapter : http://read.mangashare.com/Psyren/chapter-101/page010.html
you need to read more of something before say they ripped the story from something else . i cant spoiler the psyren story but they realy got one amazing story the more you read the manga .
im following gantz too and that pretty good also .

Started watching RD Sennou Chousashitsu aka Real Drive(first two episodes) and Aoi Minamo is so annoying. Will she change and won't there be any more panty shots(those really piss me off)?

My opinion on the remainin heroine can stay unstated.
From the list though, you are only playing the ones that has been translated right (as opposed to Japanese or AGTH+translator)
