Does anyone know any other anime in the style of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei? I'm currently at the second season and would love to have some more absurd humor to watch when it's done, I've gotten Pani Poni Dash which looked very much like SZS with other characters.

It is? I don't really have a frame of reference for this stuff. For comparison, the Summer Wars Blu-Ray DVD that's about 6 months old is going for around $80. The Angel Beats! Blu-Ray set will be ~$60 for one set. There are four sets in all. It's pretty damn cheap. The Evangelion disk that is. The actual retail price for Angel Beats is 7350 yen, which which according to google is $79. The retail price for K-ON!! is 8400 yen, which is something like $90 - and it has 9 discs.

But if you want to take the retail price for 2.22 Bluray it's 6090 yen, which is 66 dollars. Still cheap.

![]() As for prices, well, it is fair to use MSRP, but we all know that Amazon will beat practically everyone on the price if we don't count international shipping.

And I'm sure not going to watch an anime based on that crappy game by the horrible company. I'll have a look at ergo proxy maybe, any other recommendations? My favorite anime are Planetes, Gankutsuou, and Honey and Clover. But I wouldn't mind a mindless shoenen flick to watch with my brother. I watched plenty of anime a couple of years back, and I wouldnt mind watching/reading good stuff. Now that I think of it, I'd rather have manga recommendations, faster to dl( with capped inet -___-) and quicker to read. So go go with manga recommendations.

Saw it, it was pretty decent, not as good though. Planetes isnt much of a space opera, rather a hard sci fi set in the near future. I have a hard on for hard sci fi, and planetes was pretty awesome in that regard, the realism and the amount of research put into it, and the issues presented in it were of incredible depth for an anime. I watched the anime twice( on my 3rd run now), and the manga I read a couple of times. I enjoy it a lot, thanks for the recommendation though, which reminded me, I wanted to look into the legend of the galactic heroes which is another space opera.
