Yes it was fine, it did have the potential to be "OMFG WTF FUCKING EPIC" as well though ![]()

Makes you pissed that they took the lowest common denominator part of the show and basically ignored everything else that made it good. Shit is getting real in the series. having seen the first season of Rosario I just can't imagine the manga being any good, but if it's as you say then I guess they thought they'd get more people in making it ecchi

Rosario Vampire 2 manga story wasn't touched at all and it basically gets a lot darker/serious and the art improves as well.

-It is obviously radically different from Imas, but not just in plot/setting. Every single character is radically different as well. Not sure why they bothered to call it "Idolmaster" when the only things that are similar to Imas are the character designs and names. -The voice cast is TONS better. The cast includes people like Tamura Yukari, Kitamura Eri, and Yui Horie. Apparently this is a point that makes imas fans angry (the fact that they voice cast is different), but I'm also pretty sure that anyone who would rather listen to Kugimiya Rie and Asakura Azumi (both of whom should make your ears bleed in their Imas roles) over Tamura Yukari and Yui Horie are 3rd rate plebian scum. -The romance in Xenoglossia was really... odd. Xenoglossia was actually a love story between girls and their giant, asteriod shattering robots. I'm serious. Much of the plot of the anime deals with Haruka and Iori falling in love with their giant robots. -The mecha designs were kind of odd at first, but the designs of Imber and Nebula grew on me. Especially with their giant fists towards the end. -The plot/setting was alright, nothing great, but not terrible. 100 years prior to the start of the show, the moon blew up, and is now a giant asteroid belt around the Earth. Occasionally, some of these rocks drop down to the Earth, causing lots of damage. So they have the "iDOLs", which are the giant robots, to go up and smash the asteroids before they land. The iDOLs are sentient too, which is a plot point/theme of the show. Then there is a rival organization, who want to capture all the iDOLs for ???. Eventually the show shifts away from simply preventing Drops to the two organizations fighting each other with giant robots, with girl x robot stuff thrown in the mix. -I didn't think it was possible, but somehow Xenoglossia was able to make me hate Yukiho even more than I hated her in The Idolmaster anime. And this is very unfortunate, since I initially liked Xenoglossia-Yukiho a lot due to how different she was, before....+ Show Spoiler [Big Xenoglossia spoilers] + it turns out she is actually a two faced evil lying bitch spy who betrays all her friends and gets a whole lot of people killed Overall 6/10, not bad, not good.

Well, let's see, so let's get on with rewiewing Elfen Lied... warning, Mirai Nikki spoilers will be included as well! Had to mention a decent anime after all in my post. /shotsfired + Show Spoiler + Hey, can you point out the characters from the series for me? I saw some cars and rock, but barely any human traits. Nah, I'm just being mean, here's the answer to my question! Yuka: She's the retarded nymphomaniac who has incest-fetish. Thank God she starred in all 13 episodes, I really needed all that time to thoroughly explore her personality. She's a girl, who is too shy to reveal her love, and acts strange around her crush. Damn, so fucking deep. During the final episode we can see her solving part of the puzzle, while everyone else (including the so called story) are miles ahead of that. Hmm, maybe I should mention something positive about her... hmm... well, that was kinda kinky when she got wet. Yeah, as I said, a really deep, and loveable personality, she is not. Nana: Hey, hey you! Thanks for ruining the ONLY decent part about the ending. Aren't you the most useless addition to any story ever created? We should be crying rivers because you love your papa so much, while we never never NEVER get to know how did your bond develop. Yes, you said he's your papa, cuz... he is. Amazing. You can't fight, you are stupid as hell - well, you are not alone with that one in this anime -, and yet you survive. Best part? When you want to fight againts #35, lose the battle in 0,0001 seconds (spoiler alert: even Freeza lasted longer vs Future Trunks), then cry. WHY DID YOU GO THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE? Kota: All right, you are not Yuki, I give you that. You are stupid, and you want to sex your own cousin up, just to later cheat on her with the killer of your father and little sister. Hey, after all, you ARE Yuki, who forgives his father - who abandoned AND deceived him before - for killing his mother. What is wrong with you? Whatever, at least you are not as shallow as Yuka, not that it means too much. Mayu: I feel sorry for her, being forced into a shitty anime like this. She had an interesting - sure, not original - background, and I was looking forward to what will happen to her. The hands down best moment of the entire series is also linked to her, when she asks Bando to fulfill his promise. That scene is pure awosemeness, and I could watch a whole new series based on a relationship/partnership like that. It was funny, it was emotional, and it showed us some characters. Good job, and happy birthday! #35: I don't even know your name, but you had one job: kill the most useless member of the cast, and you failed. All right, I guess I'm being mean again, I mean, it's not like she's the third yandere the creator of this mess tries to force down on our throats. Oooh, look, theres Lucy, shes dangerous! Oh wait, there's Nana, she's dangerous too! Jesus, I almost forgot, here's #35, she's like superduper dangerous! Is it really that hard to come up with "villains"? At least give her a goth dress, for fucks sake, or something, anything, that separates her from the rest. Research assistant who couldn't take a shower: She had a personality. Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? I had to check what anime am I watching, because it seemed unbelievable. Shirakawa: Your regular Darth Vader, but during the last episode he had a real blast. Ehehehehe... no, seriously, the first and only time when the story actually made sense, and reached a perfect conclusion. Too bad Nana almost ruined it all. Lucy aka nyau bitch: She got the most badass introduction anyone could hope for, yet as the first ten minutes of the first episode ends, she becomes a dead weight. The personality shifts are retarded, and single handedly murders the whole anime. You can't fucking build up a character who spends 18 minutes in each episodes (rough estimation) nyauing. Look at Yuno, LOOK AT HER! I dare you all! Yes, she becomes annoying, she becomes too much, she gets a bit boring later on, and it was easy to hate her towards the end, but she was a proper yandere. 1. She was cute as hell! Lucy on the other hand? Nyaunyaunyau, hahhahahaha, yesyesyes, shut up you horned bitch! My love for Yuno eventually faded away, but with Lucy, I never had it in the first place! 2. She was badass. Seriously, when she started chopping, you just sat there with a big fucking grin. Those action and blood packed scenes were a real joy to watch. Lucy is a one trick pony, once the "whoaaaa"-effect wears off, she is not interesting at all. Yeayea, you slice them up, bones and bodyparts everywhere... yaaaaaaaaaaawn. She doesn't even have an angry look. When Yuno looked angry, you knew shit was about to hit the fan. 3. She had a proper relationship. She was obsessed with Yuki from the start, and slowly but surely they got closer to each other. Lucy made Kota grab her boobs. Kota loves boobs. Kota loves Lucy, though she brutally murdered 2/3 of his family, but fuck logic, it's love ya' know, you can't understand it! Yuno and Yuki was like a Bonnie and (pussy edition) Clyde. Lucy and Kota... are... Meanwhile Mirai Nikki had such fucking brilliant characters like 9th and the 7ths, just to name my favourites. Yuno and Yuki got kinda boring after a while, but these guys just kept rocking the series. Hey, look at the 7ths: a woman is raped, a guy becomes his hero - though he arrives there too late -, and they have such an honest love towards each other that they rather die together, then continue their lives alone. Is it original? Hell no, it's two people who really loves each other, with some added drama (rape), but it's so fucking well constructed you root for them, even when you know it's 99.99999% sure they will die, you want them to live. In Elfen Lied you get Yuko. Or here's 9th, the evil bitch who becomes the protagonist's best ally, and the only one with a true happy ending. Again, a bad guy who turns good eventually, nothing you haven't seen before, but they managed to improve her character in such a way you never feel disconnected from her. The crippled, loving mother at the end is the same woman who was willing to kill hundreds of students at the beginning. In Elfen Lied you get Nana who was bad I guess, but wanted good, but had no idea what she did actually, neither did you, and all of a sudden it's the last episode, and you still don't have a single fucking clue why does she do what she does, but doesn't matter because she has a Papa, even though you don't understand how can they be so close to each other emotionally, but you gotta roll with it. Mirai Nikki is funny as hell (maybe too much for some), Elfen Lied is meeeeeeeh. It has its funny moments, can't argue with that one (rofl when money wants to torture Nana), but it feels so awkward. So much bullshit, then a kinda funny scene, and you are not sure if you are supposed to smile now, or it's another major fuck up, that's supposed to be taken seriously. And what is the moral of the story? I don't want to come off as a guy, who wanted to watch this anime to think about life and such, but damn, we had a story, right? What was it supposed to tell us? If you can't make your own relative pregnant, go out with a minority, even though terrible things will happen around you, and you have absolutely nothing to gain, other than a now working clock? Love is above everything, so even if your girlfriend/boyfriend "brutally murders your family" (must be a metaphor!), it's OK to love him/her? You should help minorities, even though accordint to EL, they do terrible things to society, though it's justified, because they were treated poorly in the first place? Maybe it's trying to tell me to keep a healthy diet, because if they did not have a lunch at least two times in every fucking episode then I'm the president of the USA. Which would mean I'm a minority, and then i have no idea if I'm actually bad or no. Also, if you are thinking about keeping your child, despite him/her being different in some way, both of you will suffer (especially the mother, boy does she get the short end of the stick), so just use condom. Especially if you are doing it with your cousin. Wheeew, haha, it's so stupid I know, but there's a moral in every story, and I just can't seem to find it here. Lucy's background story does not help me a single bit: okay, she was betrayed and bullied into being a bad girl, all right, daaaamn, that's so mean, I have so many feels for this Lucy, seriously... you go girl, show the world! But then she goes on a fucking killing spree, including the protagonist's family. Now, shouldn't we symphatise with the protagonist? Cuz then we should hate Lucy like hell, but then he goes all "kissy-kissy I forgive you" on her, and you just don't know anymore. You know what this anime lacks the most? True motherfucking Colors. You know, like when Mayu shares her only food - which is nothing, especially for 14 years old, who needs A LOT of food to grow up healthy - with her friend, because she puts friendship above her own well being. She has been through things most of us (luckily) never had to experience, then in top of that her friend is taken away in a very rude manner, and she's not even allowed to see him again, but what does she say? What does she fucking say? That she's happy for the time they spent together, and that he found a home. I don't care if it's fishy, or cliché, or has been done before 1,000,000 times, thats a damn character right there. You can love it, you can hate it, but it will make you feel something, you know? I don't hate Yuka, Nana, Lucy, #35 for being jerks, or something like that. I hate them for ruining an anime with their shallow presence. Yuka wants to fuck, Nana wants to be cute, #35 wants to kill people, cuz why not, who needs a fucking motive, and I still don't have any idea what Lucy supposed to be: a cat or the worst catwoman impressionist. I don't even care about the ending. The plan has just begun? Lucy lives? Is she pregnant? What's with the "touched" ones? What will happen to humanity? I don't care, everything was such an emotionless clusterfuck. I just hope Maya does well in school, and eat healthy. I could go on even longer, but it's pointless, don't watch this shit; if you are interested in the genre, definetly check out Mirai Nikki, and i'm sure the other, experienced guys can give even more examples of animes like that, that were actually done right. Mirai Nikki 9/10 Why not 10? + Show Spoiler + plotholes, plotholes everywhere, and of course Yuki being Yuki Elfen Lied 4/10 Why not 0? + Show Spoiler + At least the one storyline that was finished in a somewhat decent way was actually the most interesting, and for the Maya moments. Edit: Angel Beats is next. Clannad is by far my favourite anime, so I hope it can deliver something similiar to it. Edit2: sheeeet, forgot about the music. The soundtrack is pretty good, especially Lilium plus one specific track (have to listen to the OST to find it), and the ending music + Show Spoiler + where they kiss and such

Why yes I did, and it's far from being the worst part of this madness. Boy, I always thought this Elfen Lied is some kind of an anime legend, like DBZ or something, so I figured it can't be THAT bad. Like THAT bad I have to use capital letters and bold at the same time while typing "that". I love detached bodyparts, blood, especially squirting blood, and brutality. Mirai Nikki was the first anime where I saw it that excessively, alongside with ecchi - that's how you call boobs and sex in a not hentai, right? I was amazed, and when others told me that there are other animes like that, for example Elfen Lied, I thought I just found my favourite anime genre. How can you fuck it up? Elfen Lied is really hard for me to rate. I usually get into an anime with a specific mindset of wanting to be entertained. Somehow, the show did just that ; it surely didn't get me into thinking about life (I think FMAB was successful at some point in that, maybe Fate/Zero, especially the king episode... etc. Not many anime can trigger intense thinking in me, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing). But now that I think about it, the show didn't have a huge impact on me. It got its "wow" moments in the first episode, and that's pretty much it (it was very cruel though). That said, I think you are too severe with Elfen Lied. While I agree that story-wise, many things didn't make much sense, it still worked on some thin ice, especially with violence, gore, cruelty from the girls (or whatever they are called). Not many shows feature those (well at least, none of those that I have seen). Plus, it wasn't just free violence (IMO), it fitted their universe. I agree with you on Mirai Nikki. It was a superb show (with its flaws, obviously). Yuki was probably the first tiem I encountered that archetype in anime, so it was something interesting to me. Plus, she was likeable, in a way. Did they ever release that Redial episode?

This episode was so fucking good. Chihiro is the man! Well, you know what I mean... Anyways, Keima is just getting his ass handed to him. That scene where he pathetically tried to switch the conquest to Ayumi, oh god, that hurt really deep. Its great to see the best of his character and the worst of his character. Also, Tenri/Diana service too good. ^_^ The return of the weird plastic board towel thing in the shower, haha.
