Suprisingly enough I start to, let's put it this way, not dislike Hanekawa anymore. Why do people dislike Hanekawa to begin with? Ok to be honest she's probably my least favourite female character of the series, but she's probably the one with greatest depth/potential. Kizu was a fun read and made me enjoy Shinobu's parts a lot more in Nisei. mmh, to me it was that she just didn't seem to make sense I guess. I haven't finished Kizu yet but it does make a lot more sense already. Before that she just was this annoying girl to me that hardly fit in there with her actions/interactions with Araragi. She's giving me a more sympathetic vibe in Kizu so far as well. I guess not knowing the beginning really makes it tough to like her?
Maybe... I thought she was just going to be a boring Honours student side-character so ignored her until the Neko recap in Bake. Then I just thought she was FUBAR insane which made things a little more interesting.

Oooh Mizuhashi Kaori for Ougi~
Finally Ougi, after reading what was translated (half of Kabuki, intro of Hana and Otori), I had gotten teased enough.

attack on titan airs soon - and they ended on a cliff hanger. I really want to know what happens.

He loves trolling people by implying backstory and never do it. So her portion in Bake really had nothing to do with her. She was just a plot device in Kizu, that and more trolling from Nishio because he never answered a thing about her. Wasn't till Neko kuro that we got decent look at her.
So yeah at all points before that boring sounds about right, that or shake-fist-at-author-troll.

Well I finished Gundam Wing rather slowly since I wasn't too into it. Besides the weird character motivations like why are they fighting even when they know the fight is pointless. The battles lack a lot of personality that the other Gundam series has because of the overuse of cannon fodder mobile suits against over powered Gundams which doesn't get any better when they introduce unmanned mobile suits. Didn't really care for the characters too much either.
I guess it was a big deal because of it was aired on Toonami back in the day, but my first Gundam series was Mobile Suit Gundam which has that underdog story which I find more enjoyable.

Yeah, Wing wasn't that great. Has a big nostalgia base due to Toonami/being the "first" Gundam for lots of people in the West, but it hasn't aged well at all. Had some good mecha designs, at least. All 3 Tallgeese were cool, and I loved their grunts in general, even if they were practically useless against the Gundams.

I liked that it didn't have a lot of newtype stuff, but other than that I more or less agree. For some reason I kinda liked EW though.

+ Show Spoiler [Monogatari S2 - 07] +Haven't read that one, so had no idea what's going on or what's going to go on ( pun intended ). That being said it looks awesome. I take back everything I said about monogatari season 2 yesterday. Shinobu was great, the basic story that is yet to come, as well, seems to be interesting, which is quite a pleasant shock itself considering it's monogatari. I can already tell this is going to be awesome. Really couldn't get enough of Shinobu this episode
+ Show Spoiler [Railgun S - 18] +I'm usually a guy who doesn't mind the tea-party, rice cooking, cheesy-gathering-episodes in between but two in a row is kind of an overkill, even for me. Probably the most boring episode of Railgun S so far for me, but as mentioned it's probably because the last episode (#17) felt EXACTLY the same way, with a little more epic Misaka and less whine.

I just want more ITEM SoL/ITEM doing ITEM:y things.

Instead of Newtype stuff, it got replaced with Zero System stuff, which is much worse, and thematically useless (unlike Newtype stuff).
|
The Zero System was introduced as something to counter the automated Dolls which had reflexes that were above what humans could achieve. It was interesting for a while as it made the pilot like a Newtype, but gave the pilot hallucinations of possible outcomes instead of "feelings" about what would happen like in Newtypes. Then later on that become irrelevant when the Dolls won more by having shields rather than being good pilots and then later any Gundam pilot can now beat a large amount of Dolls simply by having an upgraded Gundam without using a Zero System. Though I have no idea how Trowa was able to beat any Dolls considering his Gundam had no saber, it seems like the Dolls forgot they could use their shield when fighting Trowa.

Gundams and mobile suits in Wing have no consistency with how strong or powerful they are. In the TV Series, you have the Tallgeese just go to town on the Heavy Arms, and wail on it with its Beam Saber, yet it causes no damage to the suit itself. Then in Endless Waltz, Heero is able to damage Altron with a Leo beam saber. The Gundams were protrayed to be almost impervious to harm in many situations... Until the plot called for them to be damaged by the same things they had already been shown to be invulnerable towards.

Finally getting around to watching Mushishi. It's so simple and artistic, but so good. Not even sure why, it's just very zen and interesting.

The Dolls were so effective because the Gundams lost their best weapon: some random pilot screaming "It's a Gundam", causing an entire squad to spontaneously explode.

it's still sitting around my harddrive lol Keep plugging away at it. It took me a while to watch it too (not 8 months though, lol), but it's definitely worth it. I think the episodic nature makes it easy to forget how good the show is. Since when you finish an episode the story is over so there's no getting hooked on it and having to watch the next episode to see what happens next.
