And then that is a hilarious statement coming from you, who talks about others "thinking they are the god of evaluation", while at the same time you think you can tell me why I think what I do, and what I do and don't understand (which btw is the very thing that set me off). Or how you only think certain scores for Lucky Star are acceptable, while others are "ridiculous" and "irrational". http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Sentenal&show=0&order=4That's what, at least 80% of shows you rated 8+ are mechas? I was hooked when they had their first battle against the British.
Saki ? I'll have to look. I am noting down any name of anime that people relate to GuP, I'm very interested in finding more.
With Girls Und Panzer, I have managed to hook many friends on an anime, girls and guys. I got them interested with the absurd aspect of "it's about young girls who fight with tanks at school", and this was enough to get them curious to have a look. So I'm looking for other animes which have some very absurd concept that can help present it to people, and engage them at first.

I have seen Saki, fair enough, maybe im wrong. Thanks but Ill pass on panzer girls. Saki with tanks isnt exactly a huge step up, granted Saki at the time was enjoyable..
And Teekyu I have seen and it definately has the "moe sol comedy parody etc" and plenty of people will tell you its amazing and turn around and shit on LS..

Was a little dissapointed that season 2 focuses so much on the pachinko machine because i didn't really like the game and the way they beat it felt a little bit unrealistic It's all about them balls. Oh, and the ざわ‥ざわ‥ of course. zawa zawa zaawa
I'll probably watch Akagi next, should i learn the rules of mahjong first or is it easy to understand just watching the anime?

I dont know shit about Mahjong, and I dont intend to learn, it may or may not take away from the experience, I guess someone who has seen it and knows mahjong can answer that, its entirely possible theres a fair bit of bullshit Mahjong in there.
But on the flipside you'll like it if you like his other works and go in with some rudimentary knowledge.

In worst case you could just watch One Outs first.

works fine without knowing the rules. But Kaji season 1 >>> Akaji; just my feeling. Kaji was somehow a huge dummass, but Akaji is a natrual born talent.

One Outs is great. It might not be as iconic, but at least you understand everything and you can imagine yourself in the situations

I don't think I actually hate anything, it's just too much work. I mean just look at the last few pages; while they were entertaining, I just can't be bothered to put that much work into disliking something.

So I was helping a guy today who is part of Otakuthon (montreal), an anime convention... Basically, because I helped him, I get a free pass for the entire weekend (although I still have to help them when called - tomorrow, gotta help set up some rooms).
I've never been to such events, and obviously I will be alone ; The guy I helped was a co-worker from a job like 7 years ago so I don't really know him neither. Trying to drag some friends into it, but none of them are really big anime fans :S
What would you do? I've found the facebook page, and there are some MAL groups ; I guess I could try to find my way into a bigger group (of strangers)?
|
They are fairly enjoyable going alone, since most time you will be in line for something. Try to get a schedule and find out which guest / event you are interested in, and if they have a signing period etc.
OK now I looked through... it seems pretty mah TBH lol.
