I might start it today if I get some more positive reviews. Watch it in aired order (not chronological) for season 1. Then season 2 (episodes from season 1 are put in chronological order, so skip them) and lastly the movie. And second season has no troll (only a controversial artistic desicion). Airing the exact same episode 8 times in a row, with the only difference being people wearing different outfits or camera angle changes, sounds like troll to me. If you call that "art", well.... But yeah, he should watch Season 1 in broadcast order. Anyway, Haruhi is good. The first season is legit, the second season has a ton of garbage in it, and the movie is really good. I wouldn't call it "slice of life" at all, though. Especially when the main arc has a clear, flowing storyline, and with the amount of supernatural things going on in the series. + Show Spoiler +So you felt the repetition, right? How do you think it was for Nagato who lived that 16,000 times? Waiting 8 episodes seems endless which is the point of it. S2 has the Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi which was fun.
I get the idea behind it but I wasn't entertained at all by endless eight, so I dislike it quite a bit.
As said, the movie is great though.

That's a bullshit reason and you know it, lol. That was more the only reason you can attribute to Kyoani ignoring the source before the movie aired. With the movie itself being so heavy handed about the reason for the entire event, it is obvious without needing to waste 7 episodes on the matter.

Then you realize it actually isn't one.

More like we attribute the reason to it so we don't feel as trolled.

Oh, that's fucking awesome. I really liked.... almost everything about that series, very enjoyable fights.

2/3 finished, I'll probably be getting some more before uni starts:

Things I want out of more Break Blade Anime: 1.) Sigyn 2.) Orgasmic mecha battles 3.) Somehow combining the two above
Also, you haven't gotten a Gundam Marker yet? They are fairly cheap.

Agreed about Break Blade, though I'd through in some Cleo for good measure.
And yeah, I've got a black one (and some more ordered), as said just afraid of overdoing it/filling in lines where I shouldn't, lol.

Do Gunpla kits still come with stickers? If so, do you guys stick them on, or use them as a reference to paint the stuff on directly instead (since the stickers have a tendency to fall off)? I myself would prefer to save the stickers and paint the stuff on directly (if I knew what materials to get).
|
They come with stickers. I normally put them on, and for the most part haven't had problems with them coming off. Some I have had that problem, but those are few. And of course, if you know what you are doing with painting them, you could just paint them instead of using the stickers. I'm not brave enough to attempt to paint my Gunpla, but many other people do.

I know a lot of people come onto this forum and give out what they've seen and ask for recommendations, but I have a question: What anime would you tell someone to watch if they had never seen a single anime before?

Depends on the person.

Personally, i'd give a mainstream one that fits the person.
I first saw bleach, and i was highly impressed by the intensity of the battles. (until around episode 60 or so, that is) If you know such a trigger with that person, i might become easier to find such a series.
But well, this might not be helpful at all, for i now nearly exclusively watch anime without noteworthy storyline (either that, or i ignore it in the case there is one) and a lot of stupid jokes/absurd humor/focus on living the moment. So yeah..
edit: this makes me feel like watching those bleach battles again. i'm such a nostalgic fellow :') edit2: actually, i didnt see bleach first at all. My sister showed me azumanga daioh, which I forced myself to dislike. And keroro gunso, which i genuinely disliked ><

Yea, depends what kind of person that is... If its a Girl and I know she's into love story, my suggestion would probably be different from a Guy who believes Michael Bay's TRansformers are the best thing ever produced.
I'd probably avoid anything too heavy of harem/fanservice stuff though, unless I know they are into that. Some foreign people already have bad opinions about "cartoons" or anime. You don't want to feed them do you?

I showed my sister Fumoffu several years ago and she seemed to enjoy it. It depends on the person and what I know about them really.

I want to show LoGH to my father as I think he'd like it a lot, but I'm not even sure he's good enough at English to follow the subs...
