Wataomte: + Show Spoiler + I want to feel so bad for her, but she's so pitiful, I can't help but laugh ahha.
Btw, Tomoko's older brother has the same seiyuu as Kousaka Kyosuke from OreImo...and it was throwing me off SOOOO hard whenever he showed up. I was half expecting Kirino to just like, burst out of nowhere and give Tomoko and Tomoki a drop kick. The fact that Tomoko and Tomoki don't have a very good relationship either is giving me weird vibes...it's like OreImo...with an uglier younger sister. *shudders*

I watched about half of the episodes and got bored as well. Just wasn't for me. If you didn't like the first 8 episodes, you probably won't like the entire first half. Can't judge the second half though.
Second half is the same. I watched all of Monster hoping for some grand climax or big twist that never came. I don't mind slow developing stories in books or VNs, but when I watch anime, I'm usually looking for something faster paced. Monster certainly had it moments and I see why people like it, but I really wish it had been 20 episodes shorter. While we're on the subject, LoGH could have used the same treatment... *ducks*.
I've also been on a tear-jerker marathon lately. After Angel Beats, I watched Kanon (2006) and read Planetarian. I was thinking about reading Little Busters or Rewrite next. Is Air worth it? Neither the VN nor anime are rated very high, but I remember at least someone here really liking it.

While I feel like Monster could indeed be a bit faster paced not that I mind the slow pacing, LoGH is at a perfect pace. The story is just too big to compress the episodes I would say.
I've only watched the Air anime. I would say it's not quite as good as Kanon and Clannad, but it's still quite good. If you are looking for tear-jerker, it's definitely worth a watch.

Tomoko is older than him, don't you pay ANY attention when you're watching cartoons?
Seriously though, I don't see anything in the episode that would indicate that it'd go the same route as OreImo.

Since I'm posting, I might as well ask here.
Can anyone tell me what anime these two are from my memories? 1. Adapted girl lives with a street performer with I think 3 dogs who did tricks. The adapted father dies and I think also 1 of the dog died, and sent her to an old friend of his who runs an orphanage. The orphanage owner turned out to be extremely mean fat old man who beat the orphans if they don't work and give money to him. She used the dogs to do tricks and make some money, while others pickpocket people and do other stuff. I think in the end, she finds her real parents who ended up being rich.
2. This one I just remember a scene from the start or something like that. MC is I think a girl(can't remember for sure) who lives in the country. She had to move to the city for some reason, and then one of the first thing she does is find the highest place in the city which ended up being some kind of tower and shout there so that it would echo just like how it would in the mountains. She stays there until night until someone came looking for her or something like that. I think it was also raining to give the scene a sense of sadness for her homesickness.
Don't really remember if those shows are good, but I'd at least like to put a name to them

Kuresuti I feel you. I was so deadset on watching Monster but the beginning was so slow that... I just lost the initial YEA LETS DO THIS. Became more of a =_= ughhh.
On another note, is anyone watching Railgun S?

Tomoko was older?...really?...Idk, i was too busy focusing on Tomoko being so painfully awkward.
I was kidding about the oreimo route.

Check out Stella Jogakuin Koutou-ka C3-bu. It's about a bunch of high school girls who play war games with airsoft guns.
Did you watch the first two seasons of The World God Only Knows or read the manga at all?

I also read a comment by someone who thought it looked like it's going to be a reverse harem... Maybe he was kidding too.

I think Saikano and Clannad After Story were the worst for me so far.

Monster's fantastic! But I'm watching Railgun S and getting ready to drop it after episode 16 unless they give me some ITEM filler. I've had enough of Saten-san's adventures.

A few weeks ago...or maybe a month now, I got into a conversation with some guy about Haibane Renmei. I think what I ended up telling the guy was that I gave the show a score lower than a 10/10 (a 7) because it was kind of boring, despite nice music and visuals, to which he got super angry at me and told me "YOU KNOW. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIKING A SHOW AND ACKNOWLEDGING SOMETHING AS OBJECTIVELY A MASTERPIECE."
Which is bullshit but moving on. I wanna ask a question about Haibane Renmei. This show has had me scratching my head for the last few months because I FEEL like I'm missing something. And I don't know if it's because there's false expectations that there's supposed to be more in the story or if it's seriously because I'm stupid and have overlooked something.
+ Show Spoiler +So I know the Haibane are girls that have committed suicide....IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO THIS SHOW OTHER THAN IT BEING A HEALING STORY FOR SUICIDAL GIRLS THAT DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING?
Because it feels like a lot of the show is layered with very open ended symbolism or scenes that can be interpreted in a million different ways and I don't know if that's intentional or its just being a calm slice of life, which I feel the latter is true.
I mean I still liked the show...just clearly not as much as the guy who got angry at me. And then he yelled at me for not liking Princess Mononoke but whatever.
