If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. With that said, so far (10 episodes in), this anime is good!
I don't know how to explain it... but every episode feel like a story on its own (instead of 1 story that has a starting point A to B). However, every episodes are part of the story... Like first arc, you try to recover the memory of the mysterious girl. And then you have the arc of the guy who is trying to smile. At first, I thought they were completely different but eventually, some links were made.
Also, the idea of dead people turning into books is a nice concept ; kind of like people dying and leaving behind a biography ^^
On another note...
For those who have read Game of Thrones, I am wondering, does any anime have that type of narration (multiple POV)? Instead of having someone you can call the main character, you get to spend about the same amount of time with each (both the good guy and the bad guy, so you get to understand their motives). Kind of like in GOT : even the "evil" lannisters are likeable.
Also, I feel like most anime I've watched are from the 3rd point of view (God). Are there any in 1st person view?
About Fate/Ilya : I know I have made some bad remarks about the first episode... I read the manga (the first serie?) and it was decent. On TV though, it feels like they are dragging the fan moments. And the voices/dialogues are kind of annoying (or maybe its because I got the Low quality version of the episode?) LoGH, sorta. Rather than several different people through their own perspective, its many different people via the perspective of a historian. Both factions in LoGH get roughly equal screen time. Yea, LoGH is on my watch list. But the # of episodes make it very scary (AKA I'll have to super commit). Meanwhile, 13-25 episodes animes are easy to watch Do you guys marathon it? Or just 1 episode/day or week? Ty for clarifying about what/who was Narita!
I watched half, watched a 12 episode comedy series and then finished the other half. 110 episodes isn't as bad as it sounds since it's a great series.

On watching LoGH: I think a couple years back TLADT had a group watch that involved 2 eps per day or something. Perfectly doable and considering the show I wouldn't be surprised if some people just went and watched more. I watched it with anime stream hero Nagisama, around the same time as Kaze and Elem.

Nah that was my re-watch. I had seen it about a year prior to Nagi-stream. Actually, it was shortly after the TLADT group watch cause I saw it getting talked about in thread so I was like hmmm I'll try this show out. It took me about 1 week.

I usually don't watch long-running animes but I took the plunge with LoGH and was instantly hooked. I watched 2 eps a day as well and it felt like it was over too quickly. Incredibly enjoyable.

Hmm k, ill try to start it this weak, thnx for sharing your experiences!
I'm looking for a way to stream my video/anime to my PS3 (I bought a new wireless router with USB ports). Right now, I'm able to load video but its slow/laggy

PS3 Media Server. You'll have to fuck with the settings, but that's what I use. I can't always watch 1080, but 720 almost always works perfect.

Additionally, if you actually read ASoIF and liked it, I can't imagine you not liking LoGH.

How could you watch it so slowly?

Free! is getting really enjoyable. Good characters, music, and animation. Might be my most looked-forward-to show every week.

On my 3rd or 4th LoGH rewatch, I did 2 episodes a day.

I don't know why I keep watching animes with a tragic theme when I end up super depressed at the end of them. + Show Spoiler +Just finished Angel Beats, ffffffffff ;_;
Anyone watched Monster? It's got a whole bunch of episodes and pretty good reviews, but I've watched like 8 episodes and it is pretty damn boring so far. Is it worth the time?

I watched about half of the episodes and got bored as well. Just wasn't for me. If you didn't like the first 8 episodes, you probably won't like the entire first half. Can't judge the second half though.

I don't think I have the patience to sit through 30 more episodes if it keeps the same pace. I'll keep it in case I run out of stuff to watch.
|
Monster was straight fucking epic. I only read the manga so maybe the pacing is different in the anime, but I wouldn't have been able to drop that even if I'd tried.

Angel Beats has some sad moments but overall pretty uplifting as well.
Monster is great if you can stand the pace, but if slow is not your thing then it's not for you.

Angel beats isn't tragic, it's a joke, a parody. You've seen nothing. nothing at all.
