Oh my God. 7th Angel (Twin cores)? Cut. 8th Angel (Magma creature)? Cut. 9th Angel (Acid guy)? Cut. 10th Angel... Ok... 11th Angel (Computer hacking)? Cut. 12th Angel (Shadow Angel. Where is Shinji's psychoanalysis??? What the hell.)? Cut. 13th Angel (Eva possession - Changed. Now Asuka is the one out of commission). 14th Angel (Now 10th in Rebuild)? I have major beef with that. Where is Eva 01 going berserk and CONSUMING Zeruel? Why is Zeruel now consuming Eva 00? Where the fuck is the 15th Angel that forced Asuka to relive her worst memories? Where is the self-destruction of Eva 00? Why in the world is the 17th Angel appearing already? And the most important question: How the fuck is Third Impact taking place without the union of Adam and Lilith? But whatever. I will wait for it to finish before I do pass final judgment, but I don't get it at all. i love you so much. 1.0+ i got. you can understand why it is what it is. i still preferred the series, but the movie(s) are enjoyable and understandable. then 2.0. what? why? why did they do that? X_X ok, clearly they aren't done yet.. but the characters i loved... why are they all so diluted? especially asuka. unhappy. | ||

So I've been going through my backlog of movies recently: Princess Mononoke was okay, for the most part. It was nice to see a movie about the environment where the humans destroying the forest weren't completely evil. The amount of gore in the movie was kinda unexpected, but whatever. The designs of the demons was pretty disturbing - I know I'd be having nightmares if I were ten years younger. Having blood red worms wriggling on top of an animal is not something particularly pleasing to see. Heck, even the Deer God was kinda freaky with that face of his. The Night Walker looked like something straight out of Evangelion. + Show Spoiler + The ending sucked. Eboshi has suddenly reformed? The hunter guy is suddenly okay with not getting the Deer God's head? Yeah, your master's totally going to approve of that. The only thing I really liked about the ending was how the love story panned out, or, rather, how it didn't. KnK 7 felt slow to me, even compared to the other movies. I don't have too much to say about this. I liked it, but it's definitely not one of my favorite entries in the series. Overall, it did a pretty decent job of tying up loose ends. The saliva scene was not appreciated. Summer Wars had a pretty simple storyline, but fortunately, that's not a bad thing in itself. I enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately, Madhouse doesn't know how to draw crying faces or something - those scenes always feel so weird. Also, is it just me, or does Natsuki's voice sound a lot like Makoto's from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? I was surprised to find out that they were voiced by different people. + Show Spoiler + One thing I didn't get about the plot was why Love Machine was so malicious for an AI. Yeah, he was programmed to be curious, but what does gathering information have to do with dropping satellites on people? At least HAL had an excuse. | ||

As far as language goes, when watching subs, it's a bit difficult. Since everything is in Japanese, I just assumed that they were speaking Japanese, but nope. Just a minor pet peeve that couldn't really be helped without spending a ton more money, but it just takes away from the immersion a bit when the characters aren't apparently speaking Japanese yet speaking Japanese. Having a hard time expressing what I'm trying to say, but I hope anyone who has watched the show understands what I'm getting at.  As far as the actual show, I enjoyed it. Though I'm not the biggest fan of 2-3 episode arcs with a minor main story holding it together. Also, there was quite a change between season 1/2, I think. One just seemed a lot more easy going and lighthearted, and it wasn't nearly as bloody. Not that I'm complaining, but just thought it was interesting. Sorry to interrupt any conversation that might have been going on, but I just thought I'd chip in. Btw, anyone have/know where to find anime charts for the last few seasons? I'm about to Google it anyway, but if you could toss in personal recommendations too, that'd be helpful. Thanks. | ||

I really don't mind the Engrish all too much; most of it was pretty funny, if painful. As I mentioned though, I wish they were a bit more consistent with how the languages were spoken and the like. But I wouldn't let either of them keep me from watching an otherwise good/excellent anime. Looking at the charts I'm only behind on the current season. Hetalia seems interesting and I've seen it mentioned here, though I'd have to start from season one (more to watch!), and I'll watch Angel Beats because it's Key. I've seen that mentioned quite a lot in this thread, but have kept myself from reading more than the variety of wtf comments and such. Other than that there are a few shows I might give a try, and some shows that I'll wait for the DVDs to start rolling for the, uh, extras... >_> | ||

But i definetly liked seeing older animes like Fist of the North Star, Barefoot Gen and Nausicaa. I notice alot of people getting into anime tend to only look for the newer series and avoid the older ones  | ||
