Not enjoying it? What is wrong with you!?
Honestly, the only thing needed for perfection is + Show Spoiler +a colony drop against Dorssia using the school colony (because this independence thing won't last long) . Eru erfu master plan.

Take my hype with a grain of salt, as I'm a fan of the games, and have no idea how it will translate into anime (and I actually don't think its going to be AOTY, lol). The games themselves are funny, and have a mostly likable cast. Apparently has a ton of well known voice actors in it. Its being done by the same studio who recently did Jojo, and they did Jojo pretty well, so lets see how they do moe video game console personifications. Allegedly the director of the anime is a big fan of the games, so we will see.
Regardless of how the anime actually turns out, my hope is that it sells well, in which case means merchandise.

I thought for the anime they were using an original story? Just importing the characters from the games.

If you are, I don't think they have said whether its going to be an adaption or an original story. Character designs suggest anime original, but who knows at this point. Regardless, I would hope even if it was anime original, they would try and keep the feel and humor of the games in it.

Okay, well I just got a bit curious since I've seen you go AOTY AOTY for ages now.
Holy Hataraku, this week's episode was good. Throwin' trucks and shit. Good fun.

For those curious/know who all these people are, the Seiyuu cast for significant characters in it are: Rei Tanaka, Asami Imai, Kana Asumi, Rina Satou, Kana Ueda, Yui Horie, Eri Kitamura, and Hanakana (although I have my doubts about Hanakana being in the anime).

Hanakana Rei Tanaka
sold already if those are in.
Well, sold if Hanakana is in anyway, Tanaka is a huge bonus.

Not many I can think of that's like Tatami Galaxy (actually none at all), but if you liked it, maybe try Welcome to the NHK or Mind Game. You might also want to try the director's other works like Kaiba or Kemonozume and see if you like those (Mind Game is also by him).
Maybe try Kuuchu Buranko (Trapeze). Both have very colorful art and character designs, deals with some psychological stuff, but it's (only seen episode 1) a lot weirder so far.

i started texhnolyze but found it a bit shallow. i am going to watch haibane renmei because i know it's similar (the opposite side of a coin?) to lain.

How did you find Texhnolyze shallow? o_O
Also, don't watch Haibane Renmei expecting something like Lain or Texhnolyze. I guess there are surreal/abstract elements to it but I didn't find it as entertaining as the latter.
