But I'm sure the appropriate rec for anyone looking for DEEP SHIT (TM) is Code Geass R2 I know, Lain #1 man. But, I saw episodes of both the first and second season of Code Geass. Didn't see every episode, though, but sort of lost interest. Seemed alright with the Death Note-esque stuff, but the mechs really didn't add anything to the anime except for cliché. Perhaps I'll do a complete pass through the series sometime. I appreciate the recommendation. @Nagisama Seen Eva, seen Death Note, passed on both the others. Couldn't stand the characters in either, also plot is a bit silly. @Itsmedudeman I think I saw half of the series, but something went awry. I think it got like, a totally different crew or something, like right when those rabid, tribal, badger-muskrats came along. Had to drop the series, couldn't take it any more. You liked Evangelion? Then maybe Mei Ou Project Zeorymer is something right up your alley. Its some pretty deep shit, IMO.

Lies. No one at Georgia Tech writes papers.
+ Show Spoiler +I went there. I also liked Penguindrum.

Plus the guy has hentai up there, so what the hell? We can only hope he was trolling with 85% of it.
What's the problem with putting Hentai up there? Are you scared of making your sexual interests public? How are you on some kind of fucking high horse here when you are absolutely no different from him, you are in a thread for discussing 3AM tv and arguing about it's intellectuality and DEEPness as opposed to Moe (LMFAO), when every anime is as otaku pandering as the next? I put my favorite hentais on my MAL as well, so that people don't bother downloading the inferior quality stuff, for the same reason that I keep a MAL for anime.

After searching him, I see he is some egotistical herpderper who almost has good taste, but then he gives NHK the same score (10/10) as Lain, which basically negates his opinion completely. And Love Hina = Wolf's Rain, who does that kind of thing? Most of his scores on MAL are pretty bad, giving some mediocre animes 8/9's while giving some pretty solid if not great animes (Akira, Cowboy Bebop, multiple Kon movies) 6's and what-not. Plus the guy has hentai up there, so what the hell? We can only hope he was trolling with 85% of it. At below 3 posts.. @Tabbris My brother really liked Penguin Drum, so I vetod it. ^_^. Also, you cannot assume trolls with anime because MAL scores say otherwise (many people like bad stuff) @RuskiPanda I like it, but to say it's as good as Lain would be a lie. It's the same artist if I recall correctly, but the plot and characters just aren't as good. Definitely worth watching though. @aers That right? Edited because too profane. Personal opinion. Looking into anime for intellectual simulation for your massive and brilliant mind is probably a waste just saying, These people probably cant comprehend what you are saying as me and others here been watching too much hentai.

Really loved the anime. Wouldn't have watched it if I hadn't read this thread either. Very satisfactory ending, and from beginning to end it did well to connect everything in the end. I suppose there are some loose ends, but they can be left to the imagination and it wouldn't change the story. Was really interesting to see how the story sort of shifted gears in between to attack a different matter of philosophy.

Just so you know, I was insulting his page because he made some condescending post linking his MAL, when he happens to have roughly average taste. It's totally likely he is a troll, but I'm assuming he is not. Then again, this thread actually needs a notice saying for people to stop trolling with School Days. Maybe that's a sign as to how badly trolls terrorize this thread.
The very fact that Hentai is included on MAL makes me cringe. Seriously, it being animated and made in Japan is no excuse to throw animated pornography into the same system. Hell, they don't even bother filtering that shit. It's so depressing to look at upcoming anime only to find half of it a hentai. I'll let you tentacle-obsessed people enjoy yourselves.
And now, I shall be done with Anime Discussion Thread. I tried, I really did (or something like that). And I appreciate anyone attempting to give an honest recommendation. I would hate to derail this thread into oblivion. Carry on, amigos.

Watched Texhnolyze this past weekend. Didn't like it much, but I think that's just because I'm tough on dystopia/grayscale. It was pretty well put together and more cohesive than most others of its type I've seen. I actually quite liked the Racan substory. Question though...
+ Show Spoiler +Whatever happened with mechanized eyepoker chick? Did she disappear after siccing armchopper onto enhanced ultimate manpuncher guy, or did I miss what happened to her? Not that it really matters because literally everybody dies, but I'm curious.

Or are they just a bit different?

I watched the first 4 episodes of Texhnolyze recently (since everyone kept talking about it here) and couldn't get into it. Started watching Durarara instead, which was much more of what I was looking to watch. I guess I'll have to put Texhnolyze on hold until I'm in the mood for something like that.

Apparently the first 8 episodes of Texhnolyze are considered slow. I didn't notice because don't mind/like slow stuff. But the pace does pick up after that.
About the eye poker chick + Show Spoiler +I think she was just an Organo member and just died like everyone else I guess. Yeah, I don't really know.

I like Lain but Texhnolyze is my second most favourite anime ever. It's just on a whole other level. Totally recommended.

GuP is done. Why was it so glorious?
ep12:
+ Show Spoiler +The way they took out the Maus was a little ridiculous, but still, it was fun. I also liked that it came down to a duel between the flag tanks in the end.

ya damn i still need to watch shinsekai yori and penguindrum is a good work overall.
and regarding the hentai comment, i thought Black Bible is a must watch (along with some of the classic ones) if you were a true anime fan. It is a good learning experience as an anime fan *cough*.
