Seems like alot of ancient Gundam stuff to go through to watch it, I can't imagine sitting through the stuff from the 70s or early 80s when what I really want is state of the art eye candy. How is the guide confused? I wrote the damn thing, lol If you are wanting to watch Turn A Gundam for "eye candy", you are doing it wrong, and please never watch it.

I wrote the damn thing, lol I know, doesn't make it any easier when the guide says "Turn A is really really good, and you can watch it whenever you want since it is AU, but I still recommend at least watching the main UC Gundams (og->z->zz->cca) before watching this.", and you answer my question "No." ^_^ Eye candy is a huge part of it... I liked some of the story elements in 00, but there are only so many times I can get invested in these orphans with special abilities. But you say in the guide it's aesthetically pleasing to watch. That's eye candy! ![]()

Doesn't mean its recommended. Eye candy is a huge part of it... I liked some of the story elements in 00, but there are only so many times I can get invested in these orphans with special abilities. What are people allowed to watch it for then? :O These are shows that contain (from my limited experience) around 30-50% giant robots fighting... If that shit isn't cool to watch, it's way too much.

I think you watching it would make me more angry than Emnjay watching Aquarion, if thats what you really think.

This means I am now as accepted as Emnjay? o.O I'm so happy! Broken Blade is a much better choice for eye candy. Looks gorgeous and seems alittle more snacky than watching all the Gundams. Will check out! You watch Turn A for its story. The robots are pretty cool too but really the show is a culmination of decades of real robot narrative tradition, with its own unmatched flair. You can watch whatever shows you want in whatever orders you want, but a show like Turn A offers the most to someone already exposed to its history. The entire plot is architected around that. Thanks for an answer that didn't bite my head off for once. I understand. EDIT: Checked out Aquarion OP, and this was a related video: I can't understand japanese (T_T some of you must know the feel), so can anybody tell me what show this is? Is it another OP for Aquarion? Looks like they got some pretty epic designs going on, along with martial arts, katanas and soccer! I'm very interest

I watched 150 ~22 min episodes and 4 long movies. Of robots. I'm not even that big fan of mecha, and to be honest I'd watch 2x that if I knew Turn A would be this great. The story is amazing. I'll probably write more arranged thoughts of it later, when I manage to stabilise after THAT FINALE HOLY SHIT (still haven't after sleeping) Oh and Echo, feel proud. You managed to push FMA Original off my top 5, I'd say that is quite the feat~

+ Show Spoiler + Ugh, I was really hoping Rider would get in one good smack vs Archer in their fight. Oh well, considering how OP Archer was it was to be expected. Cool they had that sort of mutual respect, especially given how Archer viewed almost everyone as his inferior. Happy with the Rider/Waver ending. The Kirei betrayal was pretty expected. Since his earlier meetings with Archer I kinda figured that's where it was headed. I basically skipped Kiritsugu's past arc. Didn't really like how he acted, and was pretty happy the grail revealed how naive his ideals were. Felt pretty bad for Kariya. Gets manipulate so hard, sacrifices everything, and accomplishes absolutely nothing (not to mention he almost kills the woman he apparently loved). Saber has a pretty bad fate as well. Basically has to kill an old friend and then questions her entire life, along with being ordered to destroy the grail (twice for some reason). Archer I expected to win/survive (since I knew that was coming). No real shock there, other than how completely one-sided his fights usually were. All in all was a great show. Easy 9/10. Had it given some real connection to Kiritsugu, the supposed main character, earlier so we could have understood/empathized with him better, I might have given it a 10/10. Rider winning would have also earned it a 10/10 lol.

Also you got a decent image of him even in FSN anime. VN did it better though.

And personally I think those episodes are some of the stronger ones in the show. You shot yourself in the foot by skipping them. VN did it better though. I ended up rewatching Fate Zero after all (planned stuff was cancelled last night -> I console myself by marathoning the whole thing), and I'll say that having played the VN just adds so much to the over all enjoyment/understanding of F/Z, especially HF. And some things are a bit more sad than if you didn't know what was going to happen afterwards. I was thinking of getting my brother into anime, but it might be a tough task. Generally I'd think FMA or something to make someone get into anime, but since we watched Spirited Away/Howl's Moving Castle together a few years ago, Mushishi might be a good one. Thoughts? Also new Nisekoi pretty hilarious, looking forward to the next chapter :D

Edit: Mushishi isn't that good of a gateway anime imo.
